Give the court a call and ask for an update. They are usually pretty good at explaining where in the process you are. The Court Manager will have likely referred the correspondence to the Judge, and they may be typing up a new order (most courts seem to be a few days behind).0

Saying all that, do you think I should just take the €1600 at a rate of 1.35 book a new holiday and get on with my life?
I'm pretty sure you already know the answer to that (you seem to be a sensible person!).0 -
as far as i understand they only have to give you the euro amount, they could even choose to send you a cheque in euros, So they only have to give you the exchange rate of the time they are sending if you choose to get it in sterling0

Just had it confirmed that Thomas Cook are paying me out €1600.00 for a delay of 20 hours coming back from Lanzarote back in November 2014, happy with that!!
But they are paying me at todays exchange rate of 1.35 and not 1.25 which is what the exchange rate was at the time of the delay.
After reading the guides, in particular Vaubans, I'm sure they should be paying at whatever the rate was at the time of delay which was 1.25, this makes a difference of almost £100.00.
They have asked me to get some evidence of this to back it up but I can't find it, anyone have any ideas where I can get this?
Thanks0 -
See one of my older posts. 6598
I knew I'd read it somewhere, this was it.
They asked me to send some proof from the regulation and after reading it again I can't see that they are obliged to pay out at the rate of the date of delay.
Anyhow, it's been a rather quick process for me compared to others I have read about on here, I'm happy with the euro amount they have offered so I've asked them just to pay it and close it.
Ended up getting £1215, looking forward to a lavish holiday this year:beer:0 -
Just received £475 cash for the two of us delayed 3 hours 51 mins from Glasgow to Florida. if we were delayed 9 minutes more we would have got double but maybe just being greedy haha anyway thanks to everyone who gave me helpful advice, money will pay for a lot of our new bathroom.0

Just to let people know that I claimed for a 4-hour delayed flight from Glasgow to Florida (Sanford) in 2012 and have now today received full compensation for 5 people of £2,400. :money:
It wasn't easy and took some pursuing but I did it directly through e-mail correspondence using the template on this site. Got held up whilst the court case was ongoing, then after the result was out in November I re-sent the same claim, got a letter saying they were overwhelmed with claims and they'd get back to me. In December I got notification they were settling my claim. In January they wrote saying case was now settled and including a TC Holiday voucher for £2,400. I sent this straight back and asked for my claim to be settled in cash and got no response for six weeks, so I phoned Customer Services. After some shuttling about between departments and re-directions to the "statement" on their website, I finally got through to a human and asked what the delay was. Apparently those who have rejected the voucher settlement have gone into another "holding pattern" and will be sent a letter or e-mail asking them to phone in with their bank details - they're not allowed to take them over the internet apparently. I argued I was on the phone already and they could take my details now. Finally got them to agree and after a week got another email to confirm money would be transferred to my account within 10 working days. And here it is! Keep the faith guys - you'll get there in the end :T0
