Re post above, can i ask how you got the info about the actual aircraft involved. Did you request the info from TC or is there an independent log which i could access, as i feel i am being fobbed off despite recent Ruling, so i need to get as much info as possible before threatening Court action.

    Cheers

I assume you have read the posts re the CAA....you do know that they cannot force the airline to pay up so if you have a clear case, have been rejected by Thomas Cook you should issue a NBA then be prepared to start proceedings (you are likely have to do this anyway in 8 weeks time)

I hope you haven't prejudiced your claim by involving the CAA. Now the law is explicit, the risks should be less. But it is still not a smart move to include them - at least, that's the collective wisdom of this forum.

I contacted the CAA before i came to this site, so the damage, if it is damage, is already done.

There is vast amounts of info on this aircraft available. Go back a page or so for Superowls posts, he has just been paid out on a tech issue with this aircraft, there is also an AAIB report on this engine. I would suggest you go to Aviation herald and type in the aircraft reg in the search box, you will be very suprised at what comes back to start with.
Check out Vaubans Flight Delay Guide, you will be glad you did....:):):)

Thank you. My flight delay was in July 2014 from Gatwick, so presumably i can get the aircraft number for my specific flight from a search of the aviation website?

Hi, Type G-OMYT incident into a search engine and it should come up with the info you require.
There are various reports on Tripadvisor forums and avherald.com.

Unfortunately this site won't let me post direct links to those pages.

There are various flight tracking sites that should give you the history and therefore the aircraft you were on.
    ukflightaware.com is one .
  • I've just received a letter from Converge Claims Handling people saying " our client accepts that your flight was disrupted and therefore you are entitled to compensation" but in order to claim I need "a valid booking reference and copy of the flight ticket/booking form detailing all passengers on your booking whom wish to claim."

I have the booking reference but no longer have the booking form. Why do I need this Thomas Cook can surely look at the booking reference and see who was on the booking? I'm pretty sure Thomas Cook won't be keen to give the relevant info.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
