do you not remember from the time?
does flightstats show other departures and arrivals from the same airports being affected (which could indicate weather or ATC)?
I assume you are looking for the info to see if you have a case as you cannot remember from the time, if you believe it was within the airlines control then make your claim, the airline will respond quick enough with the reason if they believe you have no claim
Have you read Vaubans guide? (last link in the sticky)
  • Hi similar sort of situation for me too, fligh was back in 2010 i emailed the travel agents who still had the info saved on their system? Just need the reason for the delay now. worth a try?
  • Hi, Does Thomas Cook thread have a list of flight compensation successes like the OP on the Monarch board? Thanks

No. But it doesn't matter if someone else has been paid out or not. Some judges are interested in this, but either way you still need to take it to court if the airline reject your claim.
  • Thankyou Vauban, I have just started the complaint process so heres for a potentially long journey.... (no pun intended):rotfl:
  • Hi Can anyone help. I am just starting to look at claiming for delaid flight Sep 13 2010, Manchetser to Anatayla (TCX 614)where we were delayed for over 6hrs. I have the info from flights stats but want advice on if i will need to find out the reason for the delay, if so where can i find the info, will TC provide it ??lol or will they fob me off will a load of rubbish. Also the holiday involves my inlaws and they appear as the lead name on the booking info, which i have managed to get from the travele agents. Do I send the letters ect from them or get my in laws to do a letter giving me permission to act on their behalf. cheers:T:j

You've posted quite a few times now. All the information you need is in either my guide or the FAQs. Have you read the guide I've written? If not, you really should.

To answer your specific questions, the airline will tell you why your flight was delayed - you don't need to establish that at the outset. But you may need to do some detective work if what they say doesn't ring true.

And for making a simple claim to the airline, you can be treated as one party. If/when you need to bring a court claim, then it gets a bit more complicated (but not much).
