Me and my partner were delayed on 08/07/2009 for roughly 10 hours with thomas cook.
We were off to turkey Bodrum from Manchester and the only information I have is the visa stamp that we gained on arrival on the 09/07/2009.
I remember we went and sat on the plane for a couple of hours waiting for a pilot to turn up because they was an issue with the pilot that was originally organised. The stand in pilot then seemingly just didnt show up and we was escorted of the plane to spend a few hours in a hotel, fortunately for me and my partner this was the hilton. We were given documents etc but at the time the insurance was roughly £20-£50 for a delay so i never bothered.
I appreciate I dont stand much ground with just a passport visa stamp but surely thomas cook would have to prove that there flight on this date was not delayed and that we was not passengers?
Any advice is greatly appreciated and I apologise if this has been asked I have gone through numerous of threads but there is so many.

Your chances are good. All it should take is a little research on flightstats to find out exactly how long your were delayed for. If TC try to tell you that you need booking numbers and boarding passes to claim that's rubbish although it would make it easier for you if you could find they as they will probably try and drag it to court without. At the end of the day it is up to them to prove that you weren't on the flight. Not for you to prove that you were.0 -

Thomas Cook flight from Cardiff to Reus in June 2013 flight TCX7042
There was a technical problem with the plane which could not be fixed was caused over a 4 hour delay and had to result in a plane and crew being sent from Manchester to Cardiff so the flight could go to Reus.
I had previously submitted a genuine claim to Thomas Cook based on the excellent advice from this forum, however I was met with their standard generic response.
.......... "These unpredictable events can be likened to those we encounter with our own cars, despite having full service histories, or MOT's"
Given the news about the outcome of the court ruling should I email them back and ask them to review the case? And if so what would the best reply be?0 -
Thomas Cook have sent a letter which I have collected from the post office today, they didn't even send it to my address but to the other claiments. They are offering £2093.32 which is the figure that appears on the original court form.
It's a shame they don't mention the fact that because they played the legal game, I incurred costs of £300!
Received the letter too late anyway, not going to be able to answer before Monday which looks like I will get my day in court and cost them even more money!0 -
I suspect that they won't even show on Monday.

Hi i was flying back from Larnaca airport into Newcastle 4 July 2010. I was staying with my Mum so I had checked before leaving and no delay was listed. I arrived at the airport and started to wait in line as there was still no notifications on the board. To cut a long story short I was put on a bus with other passengers with no clue (I still have no clue what happened) and we were put up in a hotel as our flight was delayed 24hrs. The next day was a nightmare we got told various different stories, got told to check out and then to check back in only to be put in dirty rooms. In the end the flight was delayed over 24hrs. Will I have a case?? I heard rumours that it was a military exercise but we were left in the dark and as I was a single female it did cause me alot of worry. Thanks Rebecca0

Hi can anyone tell me weather you must have boarding passes to claim compensation? I have flight info such as booking ref flight code etc boarding passes might be in a box somewhere. I also have my passport which is stamped by immigration in the US would this be suffice to prove I was on the flight?0

No and yes to your questions. It is up to airline to prove you weren't on the flight.
strictly speaking, I think it's for a court to determine whether on the balance of probability you were a passenger. So some evidence, including a signed witness statement, would be necessary. But not necessarily boarding cards etc (who keeps those?)0 -
