Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Thomas Cook ONLY

You absolutely have to take the voucher. In fact, legally they can also pay you in broken promises and crooked smiles. And that is true, that is.0

You can ask for cash - have they accepted liability?0

Thomas Cook had 14 days after the hearing to inform us and the court of their suggested directions and they have failed to do this so we've written to the court asking for directions on how to proceed. I don't know which way the court will go, whether they will stay the case again based on Jet2 attempting to appeal to the Supreme Court or whether they will hear the case. The judge was much more friendly to the Thomas Cook solicitor than he was to us but I guess that's because we aren't solicitors.0

A *refund* or a voucher?
Hmmm... there must be more going on here than first meets the eye...0 -

Or a third option, cash compensation?0 -
My family and I were delayed for over 4 hours flying home from Sanford to Manchester, flight TCX 473 on 12th Oct 2012, no explanation given.
In January of this year I contacted Thomas Cook and asked about compensation. I was told NO
I then contacted CAA who took about 4 months to reply but they came down on my side stating I did have a case and compensation should be given
I contacted Thomas Cook again and again was told NO
I then issued court proceedings. They stated they would contest the case which gave them a further 14 days to give me a reason
I received a letter from them today stating that they are willing to compensate me on a without admission basis. They further state that I need to prove I paid full fare for my kids as under article 3(3) of the EC 261/2004 regulations you cannot claim compensation for a passenger who has paid a reduced fare.
I have now contacted the travel company I booked with to send them the confirmation of the monies paid and am now sitting her with everything crossed that they will accept this and I will hopefully get a cheque for £2500
To all out there going thru this. Keep going and you will come out on top. After the Huzar case airlines will have no choice but to pay out0 -
Yiu don't have to prove you paid a full fare for children. Merely that you paid at a rate that was freely available to the public. So free child places don't count (no fare paid) but a reduced infant fare would.0

I did pay full fare so hopefully it will be okay. The travel company told me that Thomas Cook don't do reduced infant fares anyway. My two were teenagers so I paid full fare0 -
Hi All, not a regular poster so sorry if I annoy anyone lol.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone can give me the address for where I send my letter to regarding my delayed flight? I would rather have everything by writing instead of email. Thanks.
So, about my flight. TCX4865 was supposed to depart from Sharm el Sheik at 1805GMT on 29/06/2014 but was delayed for over 31 hours due to a technical fault with the plane. We were taken to a hotel and had an over night stay which was great but either way, I am claiming compensation...because...why not?
I have composed my letter and compiled all the evidence but I am struggling to find where to send it to. Thanks in advance!0 -
