Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Thomas Cook ONLY
Comments
-
booked a holiday for a family of 5,we were delayed by 5 hours and 15 mins on our departing flight ,we was issued with a letter stating that the flight was delayed because of a technical fault and was given £7 in vouchers each, and recommended we checked the monitors for our up to date info as they were arranging for another plane in from gatwick for us.after getting on the plane the captain appologised for the delay as the plane had to come from lyon instead.
on our return we were 2 hours delayed, after sending an email to thomas cook about our delays they said we wasnt entitled to any compensation. what is the next step i should take.
Your next step is to read the FAQs on page one of this thread - it's all there.0 -
I know I may sound daft but what do people do when they have thrown away all their paperwork, booking refs etc..
is it worth popping along to the travel agent and asking them to look on their computer for your info? would they give it to you? if not- can you make them?

It's not daft - it's what plenty of people have reported they've done. No arm in asking. And you can always submit a more formal data protection request (SAR) if te travel agent doesn't come up trumps.0 -

I have briefly posted about this before, and I have looked through a lot, and I mean a lot of threads looking to see if anyone was on my flight..:) bit random but thought I would try...
I have one email.... and that is just me emailing my hotel to request a balcony.... he asked what airlines I was coming in on and I told him Thomas cook.....I have nothing else at all..... and you know what?? I cant actually remember getting on a Thomas cook plane!!...
i checked flight stats and there is no record of a Thomas cook plane leaving skiathos on my date that i returned home! well to Manchester anyway, I know we had over a 5 hour delay and then we had to land at a military airport in mainland Greece to let some passengers off!....
i think i am losing my mind and my will to continue.......0 -

Thomas Cook Claim - Settled Monarch Claim - Settled0 -
i know I said I am losing the will to carry on with this but my determination has returned and I need some help please...
1) my travel agent closed ages ago so I cant ask them to look on their computer for my booking ref etc......
2) when I go on flight stats and put in Skiathos to Manchester and then the date ( 30-07-2010) it says this:..........
'No Thomas Cook Airlines flights were found departing from Skiathos Airport and arriving in Manchester Airport at the given time period'
yes there was cos I was on it.....:)....and it was delayed by over 5 hours.......
any ideas what to do next?

Hostertlady,
Could the flight have been a chartered one? I previously used a NWNF company who managed to win my claim even though I did not have the flight details. PM me and I will send you more info if you would like - I previously posted about them somewhere.0 -

How do you know it was a TC plane, if you have no documentation?0 -

hiya, I looked through my e mails and found two emails which I had sent to the hotel we were going to requesting a quiet room, the owner e mailed me back asking what company we were using ..... and I had said on my e mail to him,... that the company we were using was TC...
aaahhhh I see....... the company was TC but the airline may not have been! good question Vauban0 -
SUCCESS!! Thomas Cook have agreed to pay out on one of our claims. Court action was sent and they have decided not to defend and to settle the claim out of court.
We still have another claim for a different flight with them that's being defended and currently stayed pending Huzar...so still waiting on this one but sure it will come in time.0
