How long were you delayed in total on arrival in Cuba?

Apologies, have only just seen this reply, I didnt think anyone had commented.

We were delayed at least 5 /6 hours I believe.

    Hi all

I have read over and over as much information as I can possibly digest in relation to flight delays. Thank you to all who have provided the information.

I was delayed in Cancun last week for 10 hours with my Mum. TC are playing hardball with me. No surprise there!

I have sent a number of emails directly to Harriet Green the CEO, who just passes them on to her team to respond. TC have said the usual "extraordinary circumstances". Here is what they have advised:

    As discussed, the following is a copy of the summary report for your delayed flight;

Summary of Delay for CRE purposes:

Reactionary to outbound sector. G-MDBD return to stand with Burning Oil Smell in cabin/flight deck
Oil smell in cabin on taxi and aircraft return to stand for engine runs
Engineers attempted to recify fault on G-MDBD. Spares then sourced for G-CHTZ which required seals. Subcharter option was assessed and would not have reduced delay as crew would require rest in CUN. Flight changed to other TCX aircraft. Flight only passengers taken off airport for lunch and dinner and tour ops passengers held in resort.

TCX have confirmed that this delay is covered by extraordinary circumstances, as the cause of the delay could not reasonably have been foreseen due to Technical Issue.

As I would not be able to offer any for information relating to the delay, I suggest that if you wish to take this further you should contact the Civil Aviation Authority.:mad:

We were told in resort that the crew had gone out of hours and were only told the reason for this on our journey to the airport:mad:

I do not intend on contacting the CAA and will go through the small claims court.

I have read that I need to issue a LBA to TC. Is this correct?

I have also read that some people are mentioning sending a claim bundle to the court?

In today's Daily Mail there is a double spread in there Money Mail section regarding flight delay compensation. It makes for some very interesting reading.

Many thanks any help is much appreciated.

Not being funny but you haven't read enough if you are asking those questions. Read the FAQs or contact a no win no fee firm.
