Makes no difference if anyone on this forum was on same flight and/or received compensation. Due to timescale you need to commence NBA/court action almost immediately or if going NWNF hope that one of the firms do not think you are too close to 'deadline' date.

Hi Everyone,
Do you think it would be a good idea to collect the flight details for anyone who has been successful.This would help people claiming for delays if they knew someone on the same flight had been successful and would make it difficult for Thomas Cook to wriggle out.When I made my claim I didn't know if anyone else had claimed.
This has the possibility of a useful tool in the flight to claim compensation.The sort of details we would need would be flight details,destination,date of flight,amount of delay,money supermarket code( no real names for privacy purposes- just the code you use to post replies)
Can you let me know what you think of this idea.

Not sure really. We already know that airlines are brazen enough to pay out to one passenger and defend a claim from another on the same flight. One payout doesn't set a precedent, even assuming it wasn't a "goodwill - no liability admitted" payment.
If anyone should be doing this, it's the CAA.0 -
Just reporting a succcess. Thomas Cook have now paid up following the 22 hour delay on flight number TCX2487 from Skiathos to Manchester on September 18th 2013. In this case the incoming flight had landed heavily, and although no damage was actually caused, there was no one available to check it out!
I put in a claim immediately on our return and this is how it panned out:
Received the standard technical issue/extraordinary/car MOT response.
Phoned them to say that there was no technical issue.
Received the "sorry you're still not happy, try the CAA" e-mail
Sent a Letter Before Action
No response!
Initiated MCOL claim
Thomas Cook filed a defence (which told me nothing)
Received and returned Directions Questionnaire
Received request for stay pending Huzar appeal
Refused to agree to stay given that that there was no technical fault that i knew of.
Received e-mail "our client has now conducted a full and thorough review of the circumstances surrounding your delayed flight and, as a result, has decided that it would now be appropriate to settle your claim in full"
The money is now in the bank!
Sounds about par for the course, from what I've read on here.

I claimed for a flight from Majorca to Manchester last August, starting with the template letter from this site and following the process. Got the standard rejection so pursued it with the AESA (the Spanish equivalent of the CAA - because the flight departed from Spain and therefore not covered by the CAA). It took a while but they replied to me stating that I did have a claim and that Thomas Cook should pay the compensation. This was sent to Thomas Cook and they have still rejected it, giving no grounds or any response specific to the AESA ruling. They said that the case was closed and that they would enter into no further correspondence on the matter so where do I go from here? Should I take it to the small claims court?0

You need to read the FAQs and make your own decision. An AESA opinion looks positive but isn't strictly recognised in law. You need to compare your facts to the law - which the FAQs cover.
If you don't want to take the risk contact a no win no fee firm.0
