Hi everyone, we have heafrom Thomas Cook who state
'Summary of Delay for CRE purposes:
On arrival at LGW engineers found a gouge in the forward cargo door skin forward area of the door.
Damaged assessed as per the Structural Repair Manual (SRM)
None Destructive Testing (NDT) check required and carried out by an external agency.
Airbus tech support contacted and an authority issued to continue in service.
Area re-worked and re-protected as per SRM.
Concession issued for tracking purposes.
The airline has confirmed that this delay is covered by extraordinary circumstances, as the cause of the delay could not reasonably have been foreseen.'
Is this correct? Thank you for all the help that has been received so far.

Too late to make a delay compensation claim so you are probably on the wrong forum.0 -
Many thanks to the 'delayed flights compensation' forums, especially Centipede100 who gave advise to me when I first posted with my problem. (#2205 in original forum a year ago!).
I have today been contacted by T.C and compensation is on it's way and yes, I have it in writing too! They have agreed settlement in full. It has been a long hard battle with them, but reading the posts on here and being able to compare with my own experiences definitely helped. Good luck everyone claiming...don't give up.

Was anyone here on TCX 102 - Gatwick to Vancouver - 17 April 2011?
I have made a claim with TC and got the EC runaround. I lodged a complaint to the CCA and was referred back to TC for 'reassessment of EC' by TC. I was told TC would respond within 8 weeks. No response, of course. I have prompted both CCA and TC. What more can I do at this point?
Anyone else claiming on this flight that was over 7 hours late?0 -

Well, surprise surprise, TC have returned the Directions Questionnaire and declined Mediation. Happy with that as strengthens my case in Court in my view. They're calling an Engineer & Ops Mgr as witnesses. However in the defence they submitted, they never confirmed what the technical fault actually was despite repeated requests. Seems to me they're stalling as they have to disclose the specific reason for the delay pre court date. They can't just roll up at Court and give a X,Y and Z reason on the day which has never previously been declared. Given they've already settled with another passenger on the same flight, the next few weeks could be interesting.0

Hi, wondering if it's worth trying to claim for 15 hour flight delay/cancellation from Turkey in 2010. I have no proof I was on the flight, no boarding passes, booking ref, email confirmation etc. Also I booked it online so cannot go into local thomas Cook branch as someone has suggested, surely their records should show passenger details? I never keep any of these things after the holiday is over and who knew we were going to be able to claim! I did claim from my insurance at the time (approx £40pp) but they did not ask for any proof of the delay, presumed they had checked themselves on flight stats.0
