Hellow Mrs Hunter, welcome to the group.

Glad to see everyone doing so well, my enthausiasm has been lacking! Washer dryer started pouring out water on monday eve (luckily I had been organised and done most of the washing on the weekend!). Cleaned the filter etc, but it still kept puring out. After spending the week gettnig quotes etc, we have decided to get rid if it and buy a new washing machine (we rarely use the dryer anyway), so thats about £240 gone out today:( If we ever save enoug for a house deposit it will be a miracle! I found out that I have £10k inheritance sat in an account, that I cant have until my uncle passes away (which will be many years yet, hes only 50), but I cant have it until then, but he or nobody can touch it either! Its not just me, 5 cousins too. Its all very odd and frustrating, as it would give us what we need:/

Hiya, can I join in please? I'm a SAHM to a 3yo, a 2yo and a 6 week old and OH is in the armed forces. I must get organised as OH is going to afgan in july for 4 months! So I'm trying to take over all the jobs he does around the house. :o

Today so far I've done nothing as my 3yo has chicken pox for the third time! She apparently doesn't make antibodies for it, thankfully my 2yo has already had it but I think my 6 week old has it:( Less sleep for me as he's just started sleeping most of the night.

I'm going to try to get more done this afternoon:
    Hoover
a least 1 load of washing
    unload and reload dishwasher
    tidy the living room
    cook tea

Hopefully I'll be able to do at least some of it :o

Hello and welcome Kat360. I am very impressed you are getting any housework down with 3 children under 4! Very well done. I find having a checklist really helps.

Anybody watch the obsessive cleaners programme on channel 4? (Wednesday evenings). I think I could do with one of them coming here! I wish I had just a little bit of their enthusiasm as they do, though I don't like the smell of bleach very much so use less strong stuff.

Well, I'm back in the land of the living after tonsillitis and a double ear infection. The house looks like a bomb hit it. Literally in some parts, as they started the demolition works for our extension about 30 minutes ago! I have a very excited 3yo boy watching the diggers at work. At least that is his entertainment sorted for the next few days!

I'm going to be rather unambitious with my lists this week as I need to not feel like a failure.

    So, as follows

    1/ clean kitchen
    2/ make bread
    3/ preschool admin
4/ think about toy organisation, it's getting out of hand.

Oh, and I have no washing machine for the next 10 weeks as it was living in an outbuilding that is now half demolished. Our next door neighbours are looking after it. Haven't quite worked out how I'm going to manage, but needs must and all that!

This is the before image. The green shack and the brick outbuilding are coming down. We own the bit between the 2 chimneys, the extension is single storey and filling in the L formed by next doors offshoot.

Exciting times, am going to need this thread to keep on top of things and try and maintain my sanity...

Off to do hair and teeth and try and get everyone to school on time! Diggers may prove too exciting, however..

Right it's time to get this place sorted, I did start but depression has got the better of me over the last few months. The sun is shining today though and that always makes me feel better so I've made a list for the week.
I wash every day so haven't put that down as its as essential as breathing in this house.
    1. blitz living room and put everything back where it belongs.
    2. clean bathroom which is full of horrible black mould that seems to grow as you watch it, its very damp in there even though the window is open as much as possible.
    3. change all the beds
    4. clear the hall of all the clutter that seems to get dumped there on the way in or out.
5.clean the kitchen and try to out everything away although lack of cupboard space makes that difficult.
    6. defrost freezer and clean out fridge.
    7. try to do something with the garden which my son left in a state when he extended the drive.

I also need to finish stripping the living room and decorate but that's more long term.

All proud of myself today. Did a load of washing, dried it, went shopping, went to baby group, tidied the front room, finally sorted the kitchen table and cooked a decent tea :)

Think we're finally getting into the swing of this motherhood thing :)
