    Hi all,
Sorry i seem to lurk more than i post! :(

Anyhoo, i have now up the ante by applying for college. So i really need to get cracking and get everything organised in such as way that i am ready for september.

Am thinking of starting a rota for all the chores.
Gonna need to bulk cook so i we have stuff for the first few weeks till i get the balance.

So far this year i done really well keeping the washing baskets empty, despite the cold weather.
Every night i go round and do a quick tidy up round the whole house.
Front room is always tidy and toilet is always clean, i insist on it, cos at least if visitors drop in you have 2 clean rooms to welcome them.:T

Paperwork is going really well since i got files for everyones stuff (including the dog lol)

Hope everyone has a great weekend x

  • Just discovered this brillant thread. I so want to get jiggy with it and totally gut the house, sadly I was born with a ridiculous procrastination gene. I also seem to be horribly lacking in energy lately, by the time I have done my day to day stuff I am sapped.

Liked Chickywiggles list, think I will do one for each room....

Still sick here, I now have tonsillitis and 2 infected ears. And brcause I'm breastfeeding, it's paracetamol or nothing. Paracetamol works for about 2 hours then I'm left waiting until the next dose.

So to take my mind of it, I had a party in my house for my son's 3rd birthday. They've all gone now and I'm wiped out and sore all over, but he had a great time, which is the main thing.

Been on my knees since Tuesday evening, I must be getting better now surely?!?

    Hello ladies!

Haven't been online much as have been rather distracted:o

Anywayy, house is now practically finished (haven't started on the gardens yet though, but must do) and there is no sign of the previous unsightly decor and dodgy work :D my utility room is done, just need to pay a sparky to put some sockets in:j

So,my organisation now goes to just housework and other mundane tasks.

Tonight is takeaway night so no cooking.Woohoo!

The sun is now out so I am justifying not washing ds school uniform first thing due to waiting for the sun to come out...;)

Todays housework task is to book my (to be) cleaner for a fortnightly clean to save me a bit of time and enjoy the fact that I shall never clean an oven ever again:rotfl::D:D That alone is worth £7.50 an hour:rotfl:

Also need to find a handyman/carpenter to plane some doors for me and fit new banister and spindles.Found a really good one but refuse to use the service based on it being called 'rent-a-husband'

Need to sort outthe stupid sofa company that sent me the wrong sofa twice and now refuse to change it!

Need to find a good deal on a new tv after darling son bashed the lcd screen in:(

Need to to the fish tank water change this evening.

Need to organise times and days for ds activites/groups and also pay the remaining balance on our holiday :)

Then I fully intend a relaxing night with a long Lush bath and several books lol ds permitting!

Mysk - I'm amazed how parents like yourself look after a newborn with other kids and how you be so organised! I can't imagine having 2 at once, lol.

My 'targets' are alot less now. Lol. Although I am proud to say my mum hasn't come at all this week to help with housework, lol. Yay for us managing on our own! Lol.

    Small things :) hehe

Today we've spent the morning tidying up the house and have friends coming to visit this afternoon so am off for a nice walk in the woods (free entertainment) :

Job for this week though is to find a way of storing all the items he's already outgrown (clothes, teats etc) as my sister in law is due in July and were passing everything down :)

Cleaner booked:j no more oven cleaning for me:D:D granted, she won't have much to do but I have very limited time and being regular will get discounted annual carpet cleaning too.Good price aswell so can't complain.Anything that frees up a bit of time is worth it!

    Todays tasks:

Sweep and mop dining room (had a little mop last night after spilling a bit of fish tank water on the laminate-oops!)

    Hoover living room.

Iron yesterdays washing and put it away.

Put the washing machine on empty for a clean.

Put the broken bits I'm taking to the tip tomorrow in the utility room (leads to back door so easier!)

Sand and paint the new hallway storage unit with the help of ds.

    Nip to the shop!

    Put the roast on :)

Honestly - if I'd had a 5yo, 3yo and 3month old just landed on me, I would not have coped! You sort of grow into it. Right now, I can't imagine how anyone copes with 3 teenagers, but it's in my future and once I get there I'm sure it will be just fine :-)

Anyway, I'm on the mend now, but tonsillitis for me is a warning sign that I'm doing too much and am depleting my immune defences. Last time this happened I took 3 weeks to fully recover and ended up off work with anxiety for a month about 3 months after as I didn't heed the warning. So I have made the decision to step down as preschool chair in September. I will have done it for 2 years by then, and I had planned to do 3, but if I don't then come September I will be

working 4 days a week (8-2, but with an hour commute each way)
looking after 3 children under 6
setting up and running my own business from home (can't afford to leave job until this is on the go)
    finishing house renovations

And then running preschool on top would be too much I think. I will have a cleaner though, have decided already!

    Anyway, my list

1/ blitz dining room and living room
    2/ clear larder cupboard
3/ send washing machine on holiday over the road - our extension is starting on 11th, and there will be nowhere for our washing machine for 10 weeks!?! My over-the-road neighbour is storing it for me
4/ wash everything in sight first!
    5/ re-celebrate birthday on Thursday
    6/ mend jeans
    7/ fix jacket
8/ bread. Make bread, lots of it. We are always running out, I need to stick a couple of loaves in the freezer.
9/ finish thermal curtain for front door

I'm sure there is more, but I'm still a bit fuzzy brained right now. Will add as it comes to me!
