Princess-good luck with the list. It's amazing how quickly you can tick a few off.
Chickywiggle-it's good to have a break. I'm having a combination of days out with the kids and getting some jobs done. Things have slipped for me the last few weeks with everything going on and I need to catch up.

I have come to the conclusion being unorganised costs me a lot of money eg takeaways, forgotten bills fees, grabbing stuff 'quickly' from the shop.

Today we are probably staying in. It's quite sunny here so may go for a bike ride later or trip to the park.

    To do-
    [STRIKE]Call csa and tax credits[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]2 more loads of washing[/STRIKE]
Iron kids clothes - DS done!
[STRIKE]Iron oh work clothes for tomorrow[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Pay car tax[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Research countil tax band (further)[/STRIKE] - another email sent off with more evidence

    Plus Flylady-
Marvellous Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    [STRIKE]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Sweep [/STRIKE]and mop floors
Sort & clean fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front, clean out any spills or grots in there!
Wipe dining table.. (clean table cloth if necessary)
Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe and replace all those small appliances.. kettle, toaster etc
[STRIKE]Clean out the cupboard full of pasta and packets and pickles.. [/STRIKE]
Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances .. don't forget those kick boards..
[STRIKE]Check those filters and drawers for ickiness, gackiness and fluff!![/STRIKE]
Extra tasks list, as usual choose one or more
[STRIKE]Wipe window sills and clean windows in these rooms[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Wipe down any tiles and shine those taps.. a toothbrush is great for cleaning
    away the gunk![/STRIKE]
    29 fling boogie.. GO!
Empty the bin.. wash it out.. and make it smell SWEET
Meal plan for the next week and make a shopping list... based on what you found in the freezer and those things that need using from weekly cupboard sweep.

  • did you manage it Lindsay?

We went out and were still home by 3pm.flippin freeezing.

Yet the kids still decided they wanted to play in the garden so in 45min I got the 3 beds stripped and washed. finished the washing up and cleaned the oven with Mr Muscle. It REALLY needs a good going over with oven mate in the next few weeks but that can wait.

don't know if it's all in the mind but I was shattered by time I got in. bought some mulit-vit with iron in and took one and it's really perked me up (do they actually work that fast?).

Boys want sandwiches for tea and who am I to argue, think I might have sausages and pasta when they are in bed.

  • Hi Chickywiggle, i've updated it above.

Not doing very well today though lol. After spending an hour last night on pinterest looking for craft ideas, im very sleepy today!
I have found a gorgeous new house that has come up on shared ownership. SO is not ideal I know, but with me being an ex BR and it taking us years to save aup a deposit (we live in a very expensive part of the country) I feel this is the probbaly the most likely way to go. I have researched them for over 4 years and found 3 beds have no problem with resell. The house in about 5 minutes out of town, and when the children reach secondary school age it would be much too far out for them to walk. The house however is gorgeous and in a lovely village. OH thinks its too far out (hes always lived right in town) so not sure what to do!

  • go for it!!!! Once you are on the property ladder it's got to be better then renting.
Hubby has just found a nice house at the bottom of our road £100 cheaper a month. Hoping it's still available and we can go look (it'll have to go on CC until we get deposits back from here) ............. and if we don't get it we can always say to LL we are thinking of moving to a cheaper rent and see if she'll lower ours lol.

I agree with getting on the property ladder! We're currently in private rental and its a dream. Family friends who live in America so we're having to do a little DIY as the house was empty for 2yrs and in a bad shape, but it makes me want my own.

I hate how these days you pay as much rent as you would a mortgage, but no-one can get one =/ I hope everyone looking gets what they want :)

We're currently re-plastering the kitchen. It's only little and so far has cost us £10 in plaster, nothing else to buy. The house is a little manic and so needs a good hoover, mop and general clean.

My to do for the rest of this week:
Keep listing stuff on facebook to sell.
[STRIKE]Get last of the hallway paper off the walls.[/STRIKE]
Finish the plastering of the kitchen and toilet.
    Paint kitchen, hallway, toilet.
    Hoover/[STRIKE]clean.[/STRIKE]
Organise odd bits/paperwork before going to work.
Complete meal planner for the next 2 weeks.

Busy week ahead but i've got my partner, my dad and uncle on hand :) Hope you all have a lovely week!
  • Hi ChickyWiggle, did you go see the house?
Hi Vicstar, we are in private rebates but not allowed to put up anything on the walls or paint it anything!

Went for a drive to see the house, I'm not sure I'm grown up enough for the area lol. It's also counted as another county so would be out of catchment for the secondary school my daughter wants to go to :/ due to my job I ideally want a house she can walk home from after school, though that may be impossible!

However, myself and a friend are attempting to start a new business! It may sound bizarre considering the thread though! It's wardrobe and home organisation! Lol. I am actually pretty good at it for other people, just lack motivation (and money!) for my own home!

  • nope - apparently asking my husband to complete the online form was too difficult - despite him telling me he was going to sort it (i should know better really).

we are pretty flexable with our landlady. the contract said "no prams" to which I replied "there will be I'm 3 months pregnant and why else would we want a 3 bed house?"

not supposed to paint walls but my boys pulled stuff off the upstairs bedroom so we painted that in a light colour. also have just re-painted the front room after nearly 5 years wear and tear + mouldy walls.

The front room carpet was cream.........SERIOUSLY.......so 2 babies and growing toddlers later we changed it to brown. the scabby front room one is in storage in the house and we've told them we will happily take ours up and put their one back if they really want us too when/ if we leave.

    good luck with your venture.

  • Hello all, I'm slinking back in after falling heavily off the wagon... We had half term followed by a week of sick children which I've just about caught up on the washing for! And a growth spurt from the little one / mounds of preschool paperwork has left me exhausted and grumpy. But ready to get back to it!

    New list

    1/ book first aid course
    2/ write to nationwide
    3/ made bread
    4/ make scones
    5/ put laundry away
    6/ tidy living room PROPERLY!
    7/ change beds
    8/ write to Aviva
9/ plan birthday tea for G - he'll be 3 next weekend, time goes fast!

If I can get that lot done, ill be happy.

I see there are a couple of babies on the way, how wonderful :-)

Off to read up on what I've missed...
  • Chickywiggle - surely they cant complain about a new carpet! I've never heard of a no prams clause in a tennancy agreement! We have laminate in our living room which wsa put in just before we moved in as the last tennant ruined the carpet. I hate the stuff after 3 years! Its clearly not very good quality and has been scratched by our furniture a thousand times and a bit of a chunk taken out of it when I dropped a tv I was moving for the recycling centre:/ It's also very cold, especially in the poorly insulated house. I would put carpet down but with us looking to buy we don't wanna spend the £3-400 it would cost (its a pretty big room and would also need underlay).

mysk_girl - welcome back! Theres not many people on here regularly anymore, and I too fell off the wagon! But now i'm back so pleased you have come back.
How have the tasks gone today?

Princess_nola1 - the list is looking good!

I have been feeling pretty rough today - ear ache, sore throat and generally a lot bit achy - not uncommon - I call it the half term curse! So me and the kids have spent a lot of the day curled up watching films in bed, with the occcasional board game and just finished making rain makers after seeing it on art attack! Not much in the way of housework done though. I have hoovered downstairs and hung some washing up to dry, now its back to the sofa while the oldest makes some more envelopes out of wrapping paper - we had a go together this morning after seeing it on Pinterest.

Done some of it! This is just a quick check in to keep me on track, both kids asleep so off to deal with the laundry. Then clean kitchen and we need more bread again. I really should do 2 loaves at once, but I currently only have one loaf tin...

We've hit a bit of a money wall as I'm now on SMP and the extension is starting 11th March... Fun fun fun! So am budgeting like fury, but OH has had a wig out at the horse meat thing and wants to buy all our meat from the local butcher, which is very expensive. Am trying to juggle this right now!

Onwards and inwards (the laundry pile that is, it's big enough!)
