Morning! Very very hectic weekend here, mum was down and we bought a kitchen! It's really happening now! Ground works for the extension start 18th March. And by rationalising the layout and getting rid of some of the units, and a bit of haggling, I got to keep the lovely Earthstone worktops :-) it'll be a stretch, but beans count as one of your 5 a day, right?!?

Today I'm our, but there is a looooong list for this week!

1/ preschool paperwork - this is now urgent
2/ run. 10k race on 17th March is now looking close...
    3/ laundry, daily tasks etc
    4/ new container for pens
    5/ change beds
6/ finish rug mug and post
7/ finish crochet star and stuff
    8/ big shop
9/ clear Welsh dresser as it is going into store with the dining table while the build is happening
10/ find some cheap FD20 fire doors! We need at least 5, and the builder quote is horrendous...
11/ adjust window positions on plan to suit kitchen.
12/ clear bookcase in dining room, also going to storage. Need to get rid of some books <sob>
    13/ declutter living room
    14/ declutter playroom
15/ move bookcase to E's room URGENT
16/ clear front hall (again) and put coat hooks up. Although slightly pointless as once the build is complete the front door is moving...
    17/ GET MORE SLEEP!

That's all I can think of for now, I'll be back... Hasta la vista, baby... Yippykayay...

Hi everyone, just skimmed through the first page, OMG I so need to be in here! I am ridiculously unorganised and even though I'm a SAHM I'm so last minute and stressed all the time. Already found a fantastic tip on the first page 'steam and freeze excess veg'. Actually the grocery and meal planning side of things is probably the thing I most need to improve. Gotta go sort DD2 out right now but will be back and try to read more of the previous posts later

Hello everyone! I have a little more use of my thumbs back now:o although one definitely needs checking as I get an awful burning sensation if I touch the bottom half of it,especially near the joint :(

    So,back onto getting things done

Today I managed a little top up shop, cleaned the fish tank (got a gorgeous 150 litre acrylic corner tank with matching oak cabinet, huge filter, lights and heater for a bargain £25:eek: I love ebay :T ds wants to spend his pocket money on fish,so nice little project for us :) ),washed the towels and bedding then attempted to fit a blind with dodgy thumbs- it didn't work well LOL

Any ideas for using up some caramel? I shown ds the old Trio biscuit adverts a while back and he loved them.So much so he was desperate for a trio and managed to find a recipe.Annoyingly, the recipe is for a two foot long, giant one and despite reducing the quantities enormously I've ended up with a large Pyrex bowl full of caramel:rotfl:

Sounds like tendon damage (not medical advice before someone shouts) and the cure is rest. Probably not what you wanted to hear and not easy to achieve considering how much we all use our thumbs. Can sympathise as I sprained my wee finger back in October and the bottom joint is still not 100% healed.
  • Hi everyone, I haven't posted for a few days, but I haven't done much in the house either :o. I've kept up with daily essentials, but that's about all. If I was in school, my teacher would write 'Must do better!' :p

So, tomorrow is another day, and I really must try to get on top of things. I did intend to today, but had to buy toilet rolls for Brownies (they wanted to do some activities about Africa, so we had a game of wrapping each other up like mummies - great fun :rotfl:). I then sort of got side tracked........... and bought a pile of craft stuff, for which I have no space :o. When I finally got home, I received a text that one of my assistant guiders wouldn't be available for the foreseeable future, leaving me with too few adults to meet the ratios, and only a couple of hours to get extra help. Fortunately one of the Rainbows mums was able to step in, and she enjoyed herself so much that she's coming back next week :). Strange how some people like being wrapped in loo roll .......... :rotfl:, but marvellous how some people are a real sport.

I really will try harder tomorrow. I might even manage to find the kitchen table again, if I can shift all the clean washing upstairs :p

Hey all :) all gone to pot here too! My to do list today:

    1) get tired babies in bed!
    2) prep dinner veg and get chicken in the SC
    3) fold up some of the washing mountain (hope to get it gone today)
    4) change my bed
    5) make biscuits and cake if there's time.

And I have about 3 hours for all this :rotfl:
Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession :o:o
