We are having an extension built starting 4th March for it to go in :-) and my disgusting old one will be going in a skip where it belongs. I moved one of the cabinets last year to find "made in GDR" stamped on it, meaning it dates to pre 1989... We've owned the house since 2010, this is the last thing to be done :-) its already been rewired, replumbed + new boiler, replastered, new bathroom, new roof and loft conversion and (mostly) redecorated. Been a long haul but nearly there :-) hence the strict budget!0 -
New kitchens are always exciting- not that I'd ever admit that to anyone else of course:o
What colours are you going with?If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
ohhhh a new kitchen, do you know i hate that about renting, so much I'd love to do .... so much I'm not allowed.
I'll do my weekly list later in the week but tomorrows task - after work -shall be completing my NHS application for support medical secretary on the neonatal unit.
Its a role I think I'd really enjoy so want to give the best application I can so any advice/ buzz words from people here that would be lovely.
Unfortunately it's another 37.5h job which I'm gutted about as it would mean returning full time - but it's more money...........
.....................and I guess I could always use the "37.5h just isn't working around childcare/ school" and get flexible working that way after a few months?
They also have a private nursery so it's possible I could put the kids in that instead of juggling the childminder............loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

The NHS seem to be pretty good with flexible/part time working patterns.Every mum I know working for them does so flexibly or part time nowGood luck, the nursery would be handy too!

Good luck with the job application! Which hospital is it? I was born in Sheffield at Nether Edge Hospital, which is not a maternity hospital anymore. I love Sheffield, our part of the world is way too flat for my liking!
This is the plan so far...
We are going to have to probably change to work tops to laminate from Earthstone, but OH said "over 5 years, it's £25 a month extra for the worktops". Off to work out where another £25 might come from...
My day today is socialising. I will regret it when there are no clean clothes and the washing up hits the ceiling!
Good luck everyone with your days, never give up - never surrender!0 -
Once again you ladies are putting me to shame with all that you accomplish. We decided this time last year out bathroom needed doing and well we still haven't got further than that thought.
Anyway been to the supermarket (a case of necessity had to use tissues as toilet paper this morning - not very MSE) but bought a new mop, so I am armed and ready to clean. But first I thought I'd post a quick checklist for the day to help motivate me:
1. Tidy, dust & hoover all bedrooms and stairs
2. Clean bathrooms
3. Tidy kitchen, wash up, mop floor
4. Arrange where to meet friend tomorrow eve
5. Read LO's nursery report ahead of review meeting & prep q's
6. Call and see if can defer other nursery place offered
7. Do shopping list/meal plans for week ahead
8. Look for recipe for birthday cake for LO
9. Change bedding and put wash on
10. Chase drs surgery
There's loads more I could add, but I'll try to stick to the essentials rather than aim for the sky.
Be back later peeps with an update. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0
