  • wahoo a batman and robin cape made. I'll never win prizes for my sowing - esp with DS1 and 2 ontop of my the whole time, taking things, trying to kill themselves with scissors etc.
also 20mins of wondering why the threads wasn't working properly (it was the threaded wrong).
+ I can't find the pins and the fabric is shiny.

But............(and these look 200% better in the picture then in real life).

doesn't matter what they look like as long as the kids love them - which it looks like they do! they'll appreciate the effort you made x

    So far today;
[STRIKE]1) Get kids to school if schools are open.[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]2) Make lunches for tuesday.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]3) Brother popping in to pay back money he borrowed.[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]4)Pick up dd3 - others are at rehearsals.[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]5)help with home work.[/STRIKE]
6)Cook dinner - bbq chicken wraps with wedges and salad.
    7)General after dinner clean up.
    8) put dd3 to bed.
    9) Have a bath or shower and do my nails.

I've already cooked the chicken so just have to throw it all together in a little while and not much more to do. I'm really pleased as for the first time in ages I actually feel as if I have had a productive day - just need to keep it up this time lol!

Well done to chicky - very good work - I can't sew for the life of me!

Done 2 loads of laundry, been swimming. Kids are now in bath (early, but it was their request? And they do play very nicely together in the bath, so in they went :-) salmon and potatoes in the oven for tea, baby asleep, still need to do hoovering. And I need a long hot soak in the tub myself tonight I think.

Mentally preparing for my 2 full days of both older ones in school. I have hairdresser coming tomorrow, then Aldi (so must meal plan tonight!). Wednesday off to baby group then friend for lunch. So I guess I won't get a huge amount done... But some lovely relaxing time.

Hi all I haven't posted much on here but do read regularly :) I've just found out I'm expecting baby number 3 eek!!! I have a 16 month old and a 7 month old too.

So need to get my backside in gear and get more organised. I have been much better this year I have to say but want to stay focused, today I have

    Taken oldest son to school
    Cleaned kitchen
Been Aldi for nappies and bread
    Taken the rubbish out
    General tidying toys etc

    Still to do

    Dust bedroom
    Hoover downstairs
    Sort kids out, tea etc
    Then off to work

Easily achievable I think :) right best start thinking about getting ready to pick DS1 up from school, might take me a bit longer than usual to get there. Hope everyone's had a good day xx

  • Hi all.......so I've finally caught up with the thread after three failed attempts, everyone seems to be doing well still and giving me lots of ideas for things I want to do in my home too!

Mysk_girl that cushion is gorgeous, I love things like that, wish I could make things myself, and also thanks for the idea about the chicken fried cakes, they sound like something my son's would love and a good way to use up the meat and veg that I usually waste

Spaghetti monster love the idea of freezing the biscuit mixture before baking, will definitely be freezing an extra batch or two next time I bake.

I kind of meal planned this month but I've not stuck to it like I had hoped, we always order take-out from Just Eat so this month I've kept all the "Thank you for not cooking" emails they send when we order and we've had 7 take outs (from 20th Dec)!!! We were supposed to be having one as a treat on new years eve!! Naughty, must try harder next month!

Dreading adding up all my receipts for the grocery challenge as I am positive I will be way over this month. I am going to take a trip to the Aldi that opened nearby a few months back on payday though and see what it's like, do any of you shop there and do you find it cheaper??

Think I am going to get a built in bin (thanks for whoever mentioned it) as although we have a decent sized kitchen I hate having my bin out on display, will have to wait until after payday though.

Have been doing pretty well with keeping up with my surveys this month and think I'm going to have a go at comping, if I ever find the time...

DS1 had a snow day off school yesterday, but we had already been sledging and playing in the snow on Sunday so after about ten minutes in it yesterday he wanted to go back inside. lol

I have been doing well keeping up with housework, house is seeming much tidier and more organised than it usually is, just can't seem to find the motivation to keep on top of my ironing??:D

Now I've caught up with the thread my aim is to post my list every sunday evening, so will try my best to keep to it this week but here is my list for this week....

    1/Sort out our wardrobe :rotfl:
    2/Meal plan for next month
3/List things to sell on FB
    4/Make doctors appointments.
5/Actually get the charity bags to the charity shops

Not much of a list so far, but obviously this is on top of my every week cleaning list so not quite as easy as it might look. :)

    :rotfl:

ds (13) heftily bouncing on my bed first thing (personally,I prefer alarms)and was about to slam right down on my head and chest,I put my hands out to stop him before he crashed down (I was kinda stunned lol) but my fingers were splayed and my thumbs took the full force:o poor mummy screamed a bit:o:rotfl:

I think they're only sprained, certainly felt one move in an alien direction (bottom joints):o

    Evening all :wave::wave:

I've not done much today as been in town but got some good bargains as my local entertainer is closing for refurb so they were giving an extra 25% off on top of there sale prices. It's dd3's birthday next month so I managed to get her a few nice bits at brilliant prices.

Once home I peeled the potatoes for dinner, made tomorrows packed lunches and did some general tidying etc..

Hope everyone is ok and having a good week

Today has been a hectic whirl! I was waiting outside Aldi at 8am with 3 children, did a weeks shopping (£67 this week - but I did need nappies for 2 children) and had older 2 at school by 8.40. Then haircut from 9.30-12, B&Q having a kitchen designed (I can NOT wait for this!) from 1-2.30, collect children from school at 3, them home.

Did laundry (1 load), washing up, general picking up of house.

Am currently working on kitchen design as our preferred option came in at £8700, not including appliances and fitting! This is way outside our budget, so had to have a rethink on the layout and finishes. I wanted the Earthstone quartz work surfaces, but they were £1700 alone. Laminate would be £330, a massive saving.

Have emailed some changes to the designer and we'll see what he comes back with.

Tomorrow have coffee with friend in the morning and a different friend for lunch and chats. Social butterfly, me - I like living in a small village, and knowing everyone here. Doesn't suit everyone, and I was convinced it wouldn't suit me, but it does :-) But I think the house will fall by the wayside a bit...
