Been to LO's nursery review meeting and done the shopping but not much else apart from reading MSE! Spent ages in the supermarket looking at all the cake decorations, after googling lots of images of creative sensations I have decided to go for a simple iced fruit birthday cake and I won't get stressed out about overstretching my baking skills.

Anyway, I need to get doing some stuff:

1.Sort out the direct debit for nursery fees
    2. Wash her soft toys (ashamed to say I have never done this - EVER) 3. After this put on a regular wash
4.Fold & put away clean washing from yesterday
    5. Chase drs surgery
    6. Take bag of outgrown clothes to charity shop
    7. Buy LOs birthday card and thank you card & gift for nursery staff
    8. Email friends re weekend arrangements
    9. Clear out my inbox
We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.
  • Hello everyone :)

Seems like ages since I have been on here! Everyone seems to be doing really well. After a morning of bits of housework (washing, hoovering, playing shops with DS lol).

Now to call tax credits and update and then CSA. A little scared as will probably lose money we cant afford to lose:(

    Other exciting jobs -
Take DD to shop to find a new top for her school disco
    Make dinner
More washing (2 loads done today already)
    Mop the kitchen/ hallway floor
    £2 Savers club £0/£150
    1p a day £/

ARRRGGG - went to send the application in at lunch time ............ they'd already closed it. what a waste of an evening that was.
It seems very strange as it only went live on Tuesday so hoping they made an error and willl advertise it again. no job can have reached maximum number of applicants in less then 48 hours.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • Tonight I started tackling our monstrous pile of paperwork... I've labelled some consetina files and have gotten through some of the paperwork, although it still needs filed in order!
I will get there though!! Determined to be organised. Dedicate an afternoon every fortnight to keep up to date.
Also going to list all renewal dates for insurances in my diary, along with dates we finish paying a debt, to transfer the money into another debt or savings.
When it's dark, look for stars. When it's raining look for rainbows.

Hi i'm a single mum of five, three still at home (20,9,8) and have recently started a new job (nov) where my hours have increased from 16 per week to 48 (4 nights a week, hoping this will reduce to 3 nights in the next few weeks :D) My oldest DD is at uni and the little ones are still in primary, my dad lives with us 6 months of the year (works a month on month off) we have 2 dogs 3 cats and a degu (DD'S) I have so far this week managed to organise an eye test for myself (a year overdue , time just seems to pass me by) and also the appoints needed for my yearly blood tests/results, have recorded them both in my diary and on my mobile :rotfl:.
  • Don't think of it as a waste of an evening chicky, it's an investment - either that one will open again and you are ready to go, or something similar will come up and you've already done the leg work. It's fresh in your mind now as well....

I have a busy day today, as follows

    1/ usual laundry etc
2/ mug rugs + post to Edinburgh
    3/ tax return
4/ ballet lesson 4.30 - need to finish new drawstring bag for DD's shoes/leotard now
5/ I got paid today so budgets for Feb to do now.
6/ play with baby - she's nearly 8 weeks now and getting lovely and smiley and fun to play with rather than a feeding poopy lump... Newborns are amazing but I prefer it when they get a bit more interactive
7/ preschool paperwork - OH is away this evening overnight so I can have toast for tea and get on with it. No meal to cool for just me! Lucky I have him really or I would live on beans on toast and rice pudding out of the tin!

    Preschool bill paid
    Baskets returned

    Still need to get flowers...

Off to start mug rugs while baby asleep :-)

    Afternoon All!

Hope you are all doing well! I've slacked terribly this week - blaming the snow and a bad back.

Today i popped to The Range and got some oilcloth - I recovered dining table Looks better already. Reduced to £1 a metre
I've made list of what i need to do to finish living room! - Want this done within the next 4 weeks max.
Need to juggle figures in a minute - too see if we will survive the month, or as usual will there be more month than money! - I suspect the later! 13 days until pay day
Boys have swimming tonight - bag packed and i will hopefully take at least 2 dining chairs to the tip with me to drop off on the way.
Tea - braised steak will need some potatoes - again hope to pick these up on the way swimming :)
I have made fairy cakes with DS2 and had a cwtch and practiced writing his name! :T Admittedly i do not make enough time to this. But i aiming for at least 20 minutes per day even if it's doing nothing other than a cuddle and chat!

ETA - I managed to get the boys to swimming & remember there onsies so they are ready for bed, take chairs to tip, picked up spuds from the man at side of road and popped into next to get boys new curtains for there bedrooms (£110 worth of curtains for £19 - They are Lego star wars so i have used there Christmas money :S Not sure about this, although they wanted them and had no need for new ones. Does anyone have an opnion on this!? I.e Using Christmas money for bedroom stuff)
DFW Nerd #awaiting number - Proud to be dealing with my debts!

Dont cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

    hi elly

WOW lolly -I would say those curtains are a bargain.
I would say if it's something they want and would never normally get (esp at that price) then it's classed as a treat and therefore perfectly acceptable to buy with christmas money.
DS1 wants lego duvet covers but just looked and they've not reduced them :(

Haven't posted on here for a little while. Have been managing to keep on top of things mostly. House is still clean and tidy (including the shower!). Work is all up to date, admin all done.

There is one thing I have been meaning to do though and I'm now just a little bit glad that I haven't managed to be completely organised just yet! I was going to cancel my pet insurance. Thought it was a lot of money and for the time being as my little dog is only two I would use the money on my debts. Well I hadn't got round to doing it and yesterday my dog was rushed to the vets. He was there all day, transferred to hospital overnight, had to be resuscitated and has been in critical care all day. About £2k so far! It seems he has been bitten and possibly shaken by a bigger dog, probably when he was at the dog sitters the other night. :( Not sure if he's going to make it? Has been showing signs of improvement but has a collapsed lung, damage to his pancreas and gut and has had blood transfusions.
Think ill forgive myself a little bit if disorganisation :o
