  • Crazy noisy life sounds about right! Just like my house :-) you are most welcome, this thread has really helped me over the hump into a new organised year. This weekend I've fallen off the wagon a bit, finishing some crafty projects, but back on it tomorrow (which is Sunday! Not Monday! Brain crazy...)

Anyway, this is the cushion (appliqu! is old babygros - a memory cushion)

Shegirl, what a horrible ex! At least you have good friends even if you didn't get to celebrate this yet. Next year will be your turn, except you'll have to start ageing again then...

Musk_girl that cushion is amazing! Have been lurking/pinching tips for a while but needed to come out of the shadows to say how beautiful your cushion is :T:T

  • myskgirlthat cushion is lovely, did you use a pattern for it? I've started quilting and am making several quilts. I love it but don't always have enough time! Think I need to give up work!

Quite please with myself, got a number of yucky jobs out of the way this morning. LO was sick last night so rinsing her clothes/bedding, putting wash on, emptied the food scraps into the bokashi bin, swept kitchen floor and washed and bleached the kitchen sink.

Not bad for a Sunday morning. Off to lunch with friends shortly, so that will be mummy chores done for the day.

Mysk-girl that cushion is adorable. What a lovely way to preserve some of those cute sleepsuits they grow out of so quickly

some lovely makes coming on. I keep putting off getting the sewing machine out esp with the kids around as I get sooo mad with it (me? lol).

I must start work on this weekends list as have done naff all - well I've cooked the gammon, I'm up to the 2nd freezing stage of Hestons triple cooked chips, the washing machine is on, the kids are for once not killing each other,

but I am just in such a down place at the moment that I can't be bothered.
    - have still got all my family's christmas presents here that i worked hard to get ready for mid December but none of them can be bothered to come and see us to get them (I can't take them to them as I would have to go on train so not possible).
    - i made christmas cards and posted but not one person commented on them.
    - trying to diet but constantly getting "do you want pizza? should we get a takeaway? why you drinking diet coke? do you want some choccy? " off my ever so supportive husband.

    - and don't get me started on money.........

right off to get some 'this week' jobs done............I WILL.... I MUST......

Hugs chicky, you sound like you could use them... I too am married to a diet saboteur, but his main weapon of choice was takeaways, and we're on a strings-tight budget for the new year, which is really helping! And I prefer the taste of diet coke anyway... Am now looking to come to York over half term (11th-15tg feb here, so maybe a trip to the railway museum?

I didn't have a pattern for the cushion, just made it up. It has a really simple envelope back. The cushion is 14", so the front piece is 14.25" x 14.25" (I use 0.25" seam allowance and always make the cushion very slightly smaller than the pad to make sure it is nice and tight). The back pieces are 14.25" x 10.5" x 2 pieces. Hem one long edge. Overlap the pieces on the back to make the envelope.

Been to Oxford today, slush and horrible pavements. Small boy in bed insisting he's not tired, but his behavioua was so atrocious on the bus in the way home, he needs at least a time out.

Back to routine tomorrow. OH did three loads of laundry and changed all the beds while I was out, so not too far behind. Hr appears to have hoovered as well. I love him.

    Laters,
    A

    thanks mysk_girl.

typically our half term is the following one according to the council web site (why do they DO that??) but if we make it a weekend then it won't matter or, if I can probably do the Tuesday or Thursday if I ask my boss nicely :) was just saying to someone earlier I fancied York today but the snow scuppered that one so I might have to go next Sunday to get my 'fix'.

Diet coke is definatly growing on me. I made myself a bacon sandwich yesterday and it was horrible so I didn't even enjoy the points it racked up.

ohhh I hate it when they kick off in public.

you defo have hubby well trained.

well I can tick thank you letter off the list. chips are on their 2nd freeze. and I have found a birthday card for my mum (that's a start right?)

    Hugs to chicky!

I'm exhausted! I've only managed a whip around today and a load of washing. I have been in work lots yesterday and today! Mum bathed the boys this morning and so i'm not doing it again tonight. Uniforms are done just need to be in a pile together as are sandwiches for school tomorrow. I don't think they will be in, but if i don't do these jobs i bet they will be!! Roads are treacherous and temps predicted at -9 tonight!! The morning is destined to look like an icerink!]

Hope your all keeping warm :)

Big hugs to Chicky - Hope things improve for you soon.

So I have managed to not smoke at all today so I'm very pleased with myself and my hubby.

I have finally managed to pull some motivation from somewhere and today I shinned my sink lol!

Tomorrow I may have a friend coming over for a way over due catch up but that is now weather dependant so we will have to see.
    Also to do tomorrowbut not in any kind or order;
    1) Get kids to school if schools are open.
    2) Make lunches for tuesday.
    3) Brother popping in to pay back money he borrowed.
4)Pick up dd3 - others are at rehearsals.
    5)help with home work.
6)Cook dinner - bbq chicken wraps with wedges and salad.
    7)General after dinner clean up.
    8) put dd3 to bed.
    9) Have a bath or shower and do my nails.

So not a bad day tomorrow as not too much to do.
