mysk-girl - i used to book mytickets thro trainline till they charged booking fee.
Try your train companies website to book thro - normally at end of checkout it asks if you want to reserve seats and if you want table/ plug/ near door/ near toilets. you are never guarenteed it what you choose but if gives you the seat numbers before you complete checkout incase you are not happy.
i now use transpennine to book thro i think but have no problems using virgin site to book non-virgin trains etc.

My brother was due to babysit tonight, but he ended up in a cell last night. I'm completely gutted for him, he is a good lad. A qualified nursery nurse and he was trying to stop a fight in town ended up being arrested for being drunk and disorderly!! I have never had much respect for our police but even less so now. So he won't be looking after my boys, he has spoken to his boss and she's asked him to come into work this afternoon.

how terrible, i really hope his job understand.

So far I've done the washing up, 2 loads of laundry, taken G to get his hair cut (required chocolate bribes - first time at the barber £9.50 for a child's haircut!), some more crochet pennants and bound baby girls birth cards. They look lovely ring bound together and will stop any getting lost, the binder rings came in a pack of 10 so I can go back and bind big girl and middle boys cards as well :-)

Also played rocket ships under the dining room table and watched Room on the Broom for the 23,462nd time since Christmas Day. Or that what is feels like anyway!

Off to put washing up away (this NEVER gets done usually and get going on the fridge)

Big girl has her first ballet lesson tonight, 4.30-5.15 so I've made packed tea for middle boy. Thanks goodness for breastfeeding! So I've got about an hour before we leave for school run etc, I should be able to get the fridge finished hopefully... Sewing cushion is an after-bedtime job really, as is mending jeans.

Hubby still in shock at the 'new me' - he's definitely going to be hoping I get made redundant this summer LOL! (I am a little bit as well to be honest - construction industry means I've almost been permanently at risk since 2008, and it's a little wearing...)

Chicky, thanks for that - I will see - I've ended up with 2 seats not together booking online before - obviously not ideal if the second seat is for a 3yo and 1yo, luckily people were happy to move for us but would rather that not happen :-)

    Hi all!

Well we've made it to the end of 1st week back to school and i'm pleased to report the house is still clean.

Both daughters stripped and straight in jammies tonight after school and uniforms onto wash.

DD2 has done all her homework and we've done reading.
So nothing doing for the weekend.

Need to swish round the bathroom and toilet and do some washing up but v little to do.

    Aims for next week:
Are to mop everywhere, i am good at vacuuming but hate
    mopping.:(
Try and sort out the girls room so that they can tidy it easily, after 5 mins everything is everywhere and getting them to clean it is a chore in itself.
    Enjoy your weekend all. xx
    SIMPLY BE-££577.11:eek:
    Very BNPL - £353.00:o
  • Well ladies. I have to congratulate all of you for your inspiration!!

Today I have been a whirlwind of cleanliness! I made a list like you all suggested, got some bits ticked off and even worked through the little voice in my head telling me "have a cup of tea and sit down".

    Today I have.......

    done 2 loads of washing
    put dishwasher on & emptied
    cleared half of dining table
went for hour long walk with DD
    made banana loaf
    hooverd downstairs
    stripped bed and re-made

Doesn't look a lot I know but I am very impressed with myself! Hopefully this is the new me trying to emerge. I had a thought today that seeing as I am now a full time mum / homemaker I should work as hard as I would in any other full time job. Anyway. thanks everyone

Well I'm quite pleased with myself again today, I was just going to sit on my backside whilst baby had his tea, but instead I got to work, and managed to:

wash up all the bottles and beakers, dry and put away
put away all the previous drying up
    wiped the work tops over
    unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher
put all the muffins i made in a tin ready to take over to family tomorrow so i dont eat them all myself, I've already had 3!!
ive put all the clean washing away
    packed babys bag for tomorrow
tidied up the toys on the landing
cleaned the bathroom and bathed the baby!!

no wonder I'm knackered and my back giving!

hello lovey, you sound like me!! I have to fight that little voice, it told me on two occassions, to not worry and to do it tomorrow! But like you I ploughed on through. And again like you I have decided to make it my job, along with looking after baby, I am going to be as organised as I would be in a job and give it my best shot like I would normally. Makes me feel like I'm actually getting somewhere.

Well done on getting so much done today :T
  • I didn't factor any forum time into my new schedule so although I'm getting all my jobs done i haven't got any time to tell you about it. Hope everyone is well!!
