I have had a decently productive day today :-) finally hung that picture. And I've started work on a memory cushion I promised a friend a LONG time ago, and need to finish (small cushion with a patchwork front made from old babygros, better than keeping them in the loft!).

Also done 2 loads laundry, washing up, hoovering, took meat out of freezer for tomorrow nights tea, and met up with another friend to show off our new babes.

And the mini monster weighed in at 12lbs5oz! On the 98the centile, she's not yet 6 weeks old.

    Tomorrows list

    1/ all the usual bits
    2/ clean fridge
3/ 6 week post natal check
4/ run in the evening - my new leggings arrived today which I bought with an amazon voucher I got for Christmas! Can't wait to get back to it, although I'll be back at the beginning of the couch25k programme I think...
5/ buy more grey thread for Laura's cushion
6/ condiments shelf is on the declutter calendar - we'll see... OH loves to cook so we have a whole cupboard rather than a shelf!
7/ bunting for baby's room, MIL bought it and she's coming this weekend so I should get it up for her to see.

DS is at preschool, but morning only. However he usually sleeps all afternoon after 2.5 days at preschool, so potentially a lot of time to get things done tomorrow :-)

    Onwards and inwards!

Missymoo are you expecting? I wish I'd start nesting! Lol

Peanut, I think I got the nesting thing after the birth not before!

I had fairly bad pelvic pain, so possibly a good thing, I think :-)

Good luck with the last few weeks of your pregnancy, not long to go...

12lb 5oz! She's doing well then :) Ds was only 3lb when he was born (nearly 14 years ago now) and took forever to get to that weight,he's only started catching up over the past year:rotfl:

Hehe, after would do me! As long as I have enough energy to do it!

Could be any day now realistically :)

Any tips for a first timer?

Pleased to report I have finally packed my hospital bag! Does feel like I'm packing for a week away though with the size of the bag I'm taking, lol

peanut, I took a case to hospital with me!!! didnt end up needing half of it though, as was out 12 hours later.

Tips for first timers, breath! I had a stash of sweets, pop etc for energy and some food for OH who was 'starving' apparently. charger for phone?

and just go with it, let your body take over, and listen to the midwife. You'll get to a bit where you think you can't do it and you can't take anymore but you will and it'll all be over before you know it.

Also if you can have a freezer full of ready to bung in the oven meals, that will be a godsend.... oooh also have a bottle of water in the freezer ready for you to take out when you leave, as hospitals are so hot and having icecold water was the best thing in the world.
  • oh my serious lack of motivation here, i seem to be falling into my usual trap, have fabulous ideas but just don't seem to carry them through :( on the plus side though i have done my meal plan for january and kids/hubbies dishes rota

but no more as they say tomorrow is another day so onwards and upwards, clearing the cobwebs from the ceiling as we go.

think i read elsewhere on this thread or on the site somewhere about breaking rooms down to individual months and concentrating on that room so think that will be my way forward this year. it will involve decluttering/deep clean and redecoration if it is required in that room.

having said all that january is clothes clearing month with a house of 8 the amount of clothes we have here is absolutely scandalous so during january i will be going through everyones wardrobes and clearing out. will sell stuff that is too small for the younger kids and recycle things that are past there best, we have a clothes bank at school that gives the parents group money every time it is emptied so i usually put anything i am not selling in that . aiming for at least 6 washes a day and will get older kids to earn some money for ironing it and younger ones for putting away things that dont' need ironed

to do list (thursday 10th jan- saturday 12th jan)

18 washes ironed/folded and put away
fill at least one black bag of clothes to donate
fill at least one black bag of clothes to sell
pack DD3's suitcase for holiday next month
sort out one box of paperwork and shred out of date stuff
    clean fridge shelves
sort out baskets of baking equipment/mixes etc
wash front door (dog has been jumping up at it when she comes home from walk and becasue its been so wet she has had mega mucky paws  )
    DEBT
    31/12/2018 = £21,740.10 - 31/12/2019 = £18,581.29 (14.53% PD)
    31/01/2020 - £18,685.22 (14.05% PD)
  • Managed to get a couple of bits done today and am about 90% through sorting out the paperwork....don't know where it all accumulates from, I've thrown loads out....must start filing or throwing as soon as it comes through the door!!

DS2 seems to be getting over his chicken pox now so will make things a bit easier for rest of week, only thing is, as I'm crossing things off I'm thinking of other things so list is actually growing! lol

1/Iron kids clothes & put away
    2/Take bags to charity shop
[STRIKE]3/Phone current insurance company to cancel[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]4/Finish cleaning rota for household planner (that I started to make about a year ago!!)[/STRIKE]
    5/Buy new notebook [STRIKE]& diary[/STRIKE]
6/Put things to sell on FB
    7/File all paperwork
    8/Start 2nd Purse
    [STRIKE]9/Clear out emails[/STRIKE]
10/Sort through all our books piled on shelves in wardrobe
    11/Find a new, closer dentist
[STRIKE]12/Phone up about football coaching for DS1[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]13/Phone new insurance company[/STRIKE]
    14/Clear out fridge and freezer.
    15/Post Letters
    16/Write cheques for school.
17/Order Hammock for DSD's soft toy mound.
18/Fill diary in with important dates.
19/Phone doctors to check when appointment is and make appointment for DS1.
20/Sign & return new account forms to bank.
21/Add up grocery receipts for months so far

I am finding I am starting to slowly get in to a routine and having the list is motivating me as it's good to be able to cross things off....:T

Hope everyone has a good, productive day tomorrow.:)
  • Missymoo: Freezer is crammed with meals ready to be reheated :) We even portioned out a load of veg pre prepped (mashed potato etc) so the only thing we need to cook for the first 3 - 4 weeks is rice and pasta to add to certain things. Lol. Plus we know parents will step in to help with meals, so this could last us longer :)

I'm reasonably relaxed about hospital, I've told my midwife I'm willing to go with the flow but would like painkillers as am a bit of a wimp. Lol. If I post what I've packed for the hospital would you mind checking it and see if anything is a waste?

Thank you for your tips, how are you finding having a LO and being pregnant? I've been lucky to have a reasonably 'easy' pregnancy and currently have a small bump so have kept active for the whole pregnancy. But with the tiredness at the start (I napped ALOT from 6 - 15 weeks) I can't imagine having a LO already. Lol. I salute you mums :)

P.S. WILL have a more productive day tomorrow, keep telling myself this...

Ah,maybe lists (and the organisational way of life ds so loves) have their uses after all...

just ordered the safety mirror and bathroom unit.reserved a canvass for bathroom (I can't help myself- all needs to be gorgeous!I am banning myself from frequent redecorating from now on though, this time cost a bomb!!!) and towel holder :)

Finally opened the outside loo (why nobody has converted by now I don't know.would save me doing it!) and just peeked, did't look properly as I've had nightmares about rats in outdoor toilets:o:rotfl:

Going to look at some rhinofloors online now while waiting for ds to go to sleep so I can do something physical, have a bath then hit bed ready to get up at daft o clock!

at least the shopping bits are easy ;)

Meh yesterday didn't go as planned but still I got some things done. I have no idea how much I will get done today and tomorrow as it is Hubby's weekend so he shall have his own plans. Still I can try.

    Washing (it never ends!!)
    Dust
    Hoover
    2 more drawers
Attempt to work out what is needed to change the curtains in the living room
Get hubby to sort his computer drawer out.

    Have a good day ladies!
