Oooh dates, I remember them lol, don't happen very often these days, but you've made me think that maybe I should. So going to arrange a date night with OH when he's next home. Best sort out a babysitter I guess.
We always need more storage boxes she girl there never seems to be enough. And I don't seem to have neatly enough cupboards now either!0 -
I love storage boxes
rather sad, lol....
Terrible day getting things done, but been having a sore, twingy day so took midwifes advice and spent the day napping on the sofaI did try to make the most of it tho and applied to every baby club I could find.
Hopefully lots of freebies coming my way
Did get my meal plan done and shopping list ready for tomorrow though0 -

It's crazy isn't it! I should probably start organising what is in each one and move them around a bit tbh and buy more along with units (much bigger house woohoo!)..but I need to by ones that go with the new decor as everything has to look perfect together:o Trying to decide where is best for each piece of furniture in the living and dining rooms aswell,to make the most of the rooms and ' look' more organised but it takes time and money replacing with things that would look even better..that's something I should probably stop tbhIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
brunettegirl wrote: »mysk_girl & chickywiggle I hope you are both remembering to ask for your free toddler packs on the trains, they don't see to be so liberal at handing them out these days. and I can't remember which one sometimes gives it out in advance to travelling. Virgin have them onboard will see if I can find the link who do you travel to york/wales with?
think we've had a virgin one once. it was tat in a bag + 1 more thing to carry on top of case for 4 for a week, a laptop, a bag of stuff, a changing bag, 2 childrens cases with their toys in, a toddler and a baby in a buggy. :rotfl: (and that's with 2 adults)
not sure which trains yet, 1st we've done this trip and waiting until the advance tickets get released at the end of this week/ next week. :money:missymoo81 wrote: »Morning, well baby woke me up at 6.30 sp, have sorted two kitchen drawers, put a wash load in and am sorting te airing cupboard!!!! It's a huge task, hasn't been sorted in about 4 years. Do we really need 4 spare duvet covers for one bed?!
we currently have 6 duvet covers for our bed but that's because we have just bought 3 new ones and I've not yet get round to parting with the others. :rotfl:Generally the staff are lovely though,I've even been brought drinks from the buffet as getting there and back with 2 in toe is hard when the train is busy.
i've only ever found them rude and unhelpful.
- we had to get off at a station where the only exit out was 4 flights of stairs (It is NOT yet disability friendly) with a case and baby in a travel system.
we asked for a hand and got refused on "health and safety grounds"
- we had no seat pre-booked (spur of the moment trip) and there were no seats. However despite first class having 3 people in we were told our only option was to sit in the corridor (we could leave the buggy in 1st class tho). then half hour from home the conductor 'helpfully' informed me (i was on my own with my 2 at the time - hubby didn't come with me) there were seats 2 carriages down - i asked if he could give me a hand getting everything there and he refused saying i could carry the buggy (and baby and case).
- we stayed where we were
- they never ask people to move bags off seats when there is little space.
- if seat reservations havn't been put on the train properly there is no back up to help you have yours honoured.
- when I was on my own again I asked the conductor if he could help me lift the buggy off the train at my stop and was told "you might as well ask a passenger as I don't know if I'll be at this end of the train"loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

You should join us over on the sloblady thread (as opposed to the flyladies!) where we all have quick and/or lazy ways of cleaning and tidying because life is too damn short to be a 50's housewife scrubbing on her knees:D
Forget separate dusting..seeing as you're hoovering hoover the furniture at the same time(May have to be careful in your hoovering with anything breakable).Works well for skirting boards too:D

It's not because I want to do it you understand, I get the feeling I'm nesting!!!

Hi everyone, I'm Vicky.
This thread has caught my attention as my mission for 2013 Is to organise my life!
I am recently back to work 3 days from maternity leave as I was offered a promotion that I couldn't turn down! I am a mum to 3 boys, 7,3 and 11 months. We live with my husband in a 2 bedroom cottage and are absolutely desperate to sell for something bigger!
My mission for this year is to get my house in a fit state to put on the market, this involves a LOT of decluttering, some diy from my dh a new bathroom suite and a lick of paint throughout.
My youngest 2 and my step daughters birthdays are all in the next 4 weeks and I'm stumped as to what to get them (I hate buying for the sake of buying! And I'm also skint from the festivities! )
I'm finding it very stressful to juggle this with work and the boys and my hubby as well as the usual mum things I need to do. (must book dentist as overdue and find out when apps are for boys allergy testing and enter for ds2)
Anyway sorry for the long post, but it feels pretty good getting that off my chest. I hope I can be a worthy contributer and here's to being organised in 2012!
(I apologise in advance for my spelling/grammar I am using my phone and it has a mind of its own!)

Right,as organised and clean as the house is (couldn't have it any other way with ds- my entire life is one giant routine!) there are some things (of mine generally) that need organising along with finishing off the house and starting work on the gardens. Then I'll be able to relax more rather than stressing out.Anything that saves my sanity is worthwhile:D and I've been dithering a bit due to sleep deprivation.
So..
Organise kitchen cupboards better- their contents are slightly random at the moment and there is some non kitchen stuff in the larder.
Get some drawer organisers/seperaters for chests of drawers.
Buy bathroom storage unit, towel rail or holder and new accessories.
Get some more storage boxes and units.
Sort what is in the storage boxes because I generally put my stuff in randomly then spend ages trying to find the one with what I need in it then chuck everything back in:o
Get rid of my stupid amount cleaning products because zoflora cherry blossom smells better, can be used everywhere and most importantly smells better
Locate or get a new key for the shed so my diy stuff can go in there rather than the larder!
Dare to look in the outside loo to see what it's like:rotfl: I haven't even opened the door to it yet LOL
Choose and order the new flooring for bathroom and kitchen, then fit said flooring.
Paint the hall, stairs and landing, paper the feature walls there, order and fit the carpet and laminate!
Get a storage unit for hall.
Another coat of paint in kitchen and small untiled bit of bathroom.
Put the new lampshades up:o
Get an indoor clothing line for the utility room to be and extra pegs for the garden one!Don't like clothes on the radiators!
Put new t.v. unit together.
Reupholster the dining chairs so they match the new decor and hope I don't screw it up- chairs with only covered seats would've been easier ho hum!
Get rid of clothes I no longer want.
Brave the loft to put the Christmas decs, suitcases etc in.
Find something pretty to organise my lush stuff in.
Order a safety mirror for the bathroom.
Get an organiser laundry bin - don't want to dye ds school polos pink again:rotfl:
Get one of those sock bag thingies for the washing machine - I'm tired of hunting for socks!
Dig over the side garden.
Start seeds off.
Plan the back garden and make a rule that I am NOT allowed to change my design.
Start work on front garden.
Put pretty things on the fireplace.
Put the clocks and art work up.
Make a check list for the freezer - had a large meat delivery from farm shop today, bagged everything up and should probably keep tabs of what is used so I know when to order again.
Relax.Which I'll only do when everything is done as I'm an awful perfectionist
A relaxed mummy makes a happier mummy with more energy for her hyperactive boy!!!If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0
