would meet you at the train museum (we love york) but that's right when we'll be away - 5th ish of april)

every June time they run a promotion in conjunction with the sun newspaper (or something)- get a temporary card free for 3 months. at the end of the 3 months they send a code (used to be generic but now they aren't) so you can buy a 1yr card half price.
They say existing customers can't get it but I have no problems (amazing the power of additional email addresses). :D

    Evening folks.

Carry on with tidying the living room - made a huge dent but still got to finish it
[STRIKE]Throw loads of stuff away[/STRIKE] Still loads to do but made a big dent
[STRIKE]Washing[/STRIKE] - couple of loads done but with hundreds of different uniforms I don't think it will ever stop
Sorting the astounding amount of coats and [STRIKE]shoes [/STRIKE]we seem to have accumulated - failed miserably!

    So for tomorrow:

    More washing
Sort 2 drawers of the filing cabinet (ultimate aim is to get rid as we don't really use it)
    Shoes/coats
    Hoovering

    Have a great night folks.

ETA: looked at my list and felt bad so have just paired up and subsequently got rid of 1.5 black bags of shoes (old holey and totally not charity shop worthy - why did we still have them??)

Ah that's a shame - we'll be travelling up in the summer some time as well I think, before I go back to work on 1st September :-(

I'll look out for the codes this summer, it's actually worth buying the card for one journey doing the Oxford - York journey, but 50% off would be even better!

Yes, we love the railway museum as well. Castle Museum is good as well :-) And Rowntrees Park has an excellent playground.

    Tomorrows list

1/ general stuff (washing up, min 1 load laundry, pick up and Hoover downstairs
2/ weigh baby and endure comments about how big she is for 6 weeks. Yes, honestly, it's just breastmilk she's getting, yes she's a piglet, yes my other 2 were the same...
    3/ clean out fridge
    4/ hang picture
    5/ bookcase in living room

My lists are getting shorter :-( But I feel more order in the house which is brilliant!

    summer it is then. :D

not been to the park. we stayed over night just after DS2 was born and did all the touristy bits (museums/ castle)

I'd love to take them to the airplane museum but its quite a bus journey from the centre I think.

Hello all, lovely evening out having a Thai :) kept it very mild as to not encourage LO along :)

    Jobs for tomorrow:
    • Pack hospital bag with OH and make list of small things still needed
    • Tidy bedroom
    • Move presents from front room to spare room
    • Tidy paperwork in spare room
    • Tidy spare room
    • Tidy under coffee table
    • Make meal plan
    • Write shopping list for Thur

    :)
  • TI's still exist  do you need to physically go there (sorry if I have missed this bit)..... there is SOO much info on the internet I have planned all trips with what I can find there. what are you after I'm a pretty good googler and if it's there I can probably find it.
    .

Sadly the interenet doesn't seem to be used as well as everywhere else does so all the fates/fairs/ events tend to be in this little booklet they produce every few months has loads in and lots for the surrounding villages - who equally don't use the internet, its very fustrating as I too normally find things online, although i am a leaflet girl, always collect the leaflets, i tend to find lots of vouchers at tourist info too which is great :)

Its like going back in time in some ways around here - when i first moved here I went online and was convinced nothing went on as I could hardly find anything, but there is loads but limited info out there and rubbish advertising too. Ohh and I can't whizz around in the car in summer or i miss all the signs on the road, you know those little boards telling me about fete's/scarcrow festivals ect ect . ha
I need to start saving so I plan to save £2 a week to start with:beer:
  • mysk_girl & chickywiggle I hope you are both remembering to ask for your free toddler packs on the trains, they don't see to be so liberal at handing them out these days. and I can't remember which one sometimes gives it out in advance to travelling. Virgin have them onboard will see if I can find the link who do you travel to york/wales with?

    Morning folks.

So far so good for today. Kids up and out for school (although I did have a fight with the youngest about breakfast). Two loads of washing done.

Plan for the rest of the day.

    • Drink coffee
    • Sort the dry washing out
    • Coats
    • Dust
    • Hoover
    • 2 drawers in the filing cabinet
    • If I can summon the enthusiasm, sort the dumping pile

    Have a great day folks!
