Everyone is doing really well - just wanted to ask about sending clothes to charity? What does everyone do with ripped jeans etc? My husband always wears jeans that are slightly too long so the back of the leg gets trodden on and starts to wear away. Part of me thinks it would be really wrong to donate these anywhere but then I struggle with the thought of them going to land fill but then part of me also thinks that if I donate to the right charity someone could be wearing them as shorts or 3/4 lengths. What do you do?0

poohspals - do you have children? Do their schools do clothes collections? We do at ours. We use Bags2School and get 50p per tonne. They send bags to school which we send out to all families but when bags are collected by the company they also take black sacks too. They take clothes, shoes, belts, bags, bedding, towels and cuddly toys. We do this twice a year and on average get about £200-£250 each time. Well worth doing for very little effort. I keep black sacks of stuff in the loft until the next collection. HTH xNeed to sort my life out! :T0

Yes, we do Bags2School - as head of PTA I always take stuff in - May & November - but would they accept clothes that weren't perfect?0

Will be back to introduce myself properly later but wanted to drop this off. Hope some of you will find it usuful.
Thanks for this! It looks like it'll be very effective without being overly onerous. So, my job for tomorrow is to sort out all the decorations and wrapping stuff which got shoved in the cupboard under the stairs after Xmas. Might even make some tags for next year!
