It works on cloth nappies as well, and trust me, some of those stains are impressive!
I can confirm that, was quite amazed!
Speaking of which, DD (5 weeks) has been in disposables so far. She had a habit of peeing/pooing as soon as a fresh nappy was put on, but seems to be getting out of that now, so it might be time to try BOTH kids on the washables.......will be interesting to see how it works out!
Ok, going to make a list. First of all my favourite one (what I've already done today!)
- 2 washes done
- made crumble topping for freezing (great tip I got from my Mum!)
- made midwife appt
- found 2nd hand bouncy chair on internet and arranged to pick it up
- changed DS bed
And what is still to do:
- hang out 2nd wash
- sterilise breast pump ready for tomorrow
- go get bouncy chair0 -
Good afternoon ladies. Well, today I have researched cupboards for my Rainbow unit, and think I have chosen one. I have also made a few phone calls that needed to be sorted.
I have put the washer and dryer on, so that's almost finished. the lads folded the dry washing for me.
The dishwasher went on overnight and has been emptied - refill already started. Younger son is doing that as I type. Older son is sorting socks into pairs. He has also swept the bathroom upstairs, as well as the lounge.
The biggest job today was to defrost and sort out the freezer. It is a tall freezer, with seven drawers/shelves. My youngest son helped to bash some ice off the food :rotfl:. We ended up with a washing up bowl full of ice, and a few things binned because they were out of date. I don't just mean by a few weeks, though, I mean by six months or more
Anyway, I now have a clean and tidy freezer, organised into sections. I'm quite pleased that the veggie drawer is overflowing, mostly with fresh veg that we have steamed and frozen ourselves. There is a good selection in there. Another drawer is full of home made meals and soups, but I can't take any credit for those - my daughter is the cook in our house. I have one drawer completely emplty, and another less than half full, which is good because I am expecting a delivery from Westin Gourmet tomorrow. I placed a large order for their meat, after a poster on one of the shopping boards mentioned them.
We're going to the pictures later to see Parental Guidance, so I am going to sort our sweetie boxes out next. I use a small craft box from Home Bargains, and the kids can choose some sweets for each section. We're going after my weigh in at Slimming World, so I might take a few sweets myself
Keep your fingers crossed for me everyone, because my son is doing incredibly well with the toilet training. No accidents so far! He did go into a pull up overnight, but is proudly strutting round the house in brightly coloured boxers today :rotfl:. He wanted to change into stripey pants, as he hasn't worn them yet, but I persuaded him to wear those tomorrow (earlier if he wets himself, but I didn't tell him that).
Before I go to SW, I intend to declutter another corner of my bedroom. Small steps....
Good luck with your tasks today ladies, will chat later x
ETA: Sweets are sorted, and I have some for myself. My son decided that we could play shop, which was fine until he charged me £13,000 for my sweets . We don't have that much play money, but accepted 'pretend' money which was invisible..... As you can tell, he has no idea of the value of money, but he enjoyed playing0 -
Well I've put the washing away, but have learnt not to leave tumbled washing creased in the basket as now I have a mammoth of ironing to do!! Grrrrrr.
Also sorted my wardrobe and tidied under the bed. Need OH to bring the vacuum up tonight and then tomorrow I can Hoover through. But the bedroom looks tidy! Yay!!
Jobs left to do today:
* cook tea (quick one tonight)
* put washing in on timer (electric cheaper after 2am)
* put feet up! (I'm exhausted!!)0 -
I'm loving reading all the updates on this thread
You all make me feel very motivated!
All my New Years resolutions boil down to needing to be more organised and make better use of my time, and with your help I'll get there! I am SAHM to a spirited 2 year old. Some days it's a challenge to get anything done! We moved into our house jn August and still have lots to unpack and sort! Lots of decluttering for me this year. :eek:Mortgage Free Wannabe

Well it was back to work today so up at 6:30 and the boys round to my parents for 8. I did manged to clean the shower after I got out this morning and as I have now decided to use the dishwasher I could sit down with the bys for breakfast and a cup of tea:D
Did spaghetti bolognaise for tea tonight. Yoghurt for pudding. I've managed to stay on top of work stuff today too. So diary completed, emails done and calls logged while tea was cooking.
In addition I've taken a load of washing off the airer and its neatly folded and put away. Washed the kitchen floor. Showered the dog as he had got muddy and was stinking! Oh and spoke to my credit card company to cancel a regular payment that I had tried to cancel with the company taking the money and last but not least called the highway agency to tell them about a pothole on the road out of where I live which is more like a gaping chasm and is right as you come out of a really sharp bend on a narrowish road so is basically just an accident waiting to happen!

I had zero income from self employment in 2011/12 (I have paye income as well) so doing it should be very quick once I'm in...0 -

hi all, can I come in too please.
Will try and contribute when I can but apologies in advance if I miss things as these threads tend to move so fast.
I actually don't find juggling 'life' that hard. I work Tues-Fri, Hubby works Fri-Mon. we have 2 children (4yr and 1yr). We don't have much social life (he has pub once a week), kids don't have much social life (too small) and our families live 200 miles away in opposite directions.
Have started doing my weekly shop online again for saturday mornings (2 kids + no car = nightmare any other way).
I must get back into the routine of putting every other night aside for survey site completion then the other alternate night I can work of my cross stitch passion.
Housework gets done in kinda flylady style on my 3 days off around the kids.
Tho my aim for 2013 is to make sure we have 1 outdoors day so Sundays will be packa picnic and go out for the day - not sure how or where yet as public transport with a buggy is pretty difficult. They love the train museum at York but train fare+ tram fare can be soo expensive (but when you think it'd cost me £8 minimum entry + tram fare + drinks + food for a play centre it's not excessive) so might fit that in every couple of months.
any relatively cheap ideas in south yorkshire that are public transport easy please feel free to share (I'm pretty good at googling etc so know all the obvious).
I do have an MSE diary here if anyone wants to subscribe.
I also bought the organised mum diary last year in the works but find it so heavy and bulky to carry around, would love a lighter alternative.
found I also rarly used all the extra sections as well. was very tempted to get a light filofax as then I can keep all the sections until used up and just change the diary yearly, but as yet not found one cheap enough (£10ish)loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
