Mums get organised in 2013

Hi everyone, hope you are all OK. Thehappybutterfly, I hope that you get better soon.
My mum is still ill, but improving now that she has antibiotics. I spent some time with her today - I had bought her the yours magazine annual/diary for 99p from Home Bargains, so we spent some time working through the quizzes together. They are all based on books, so we quite enjoyed ourselves. Mum was better at answering those about books made into film/TV than me, as I don't watch much. It led to some reminiscing, and this afternoon I have ordered both 'Borrowers' series, plus 'Stig of the Dump' on DVD for my mum. I'm thinking about getting the Thornbirds, as I loved it so much back when I was a schoolgirl in the 80s (I had a crush on Richard Chamberlain).
I've also been to see friends who spent Christmas in France with their family. So I haven't had much time for housework
I have managed to declutter a corner of my bedroom, though, and clean the loo, fill the dishwasher, etc. The lads have been tidying their bedroom too, for a little while.
Now, a challenge indeed. I nipped into Asda earlier and bought some underpants for my 14 year old. Nothing particularly unusual maybe, but he is doubly incontinent. He has other disabilities as well, but he was born with a rare bowel condition and so far hasn't felt the urge to 'go' (sorry if TMI). This seems to be changing, very slowly, though, so I have decided to try toilet training again. It probably means even more washing than usual, but if it works, then life will be a bit easier and my son will have more dignity. So, fingers crossed

I have been so good today, actually completed tasks! All windows up stairs cleaned, nets washed and put back up. All washing washed, dried, ironed and put away. Xmas Decorations down, and back in loft. Dishwasher loaded, washed and put away!
Tasks for tomorrow- Hoover and Mop everywhere
- Strip and remake bed!
- Need to find a book case - house is bare without decorations up
Kingfisher - Good Luck with the toilet training! I really hope it goes well. Must be so difficult for your son suffering with continence issues.DFW Nerd #awaiting number - Proud to be dealing with my debts!
Dont cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

It pays to declutter. Literally
After much debating (with myself), I decided to throw away all of hte greetings card I had since having the children (birth, baptism etc). I decided to keep a few speical cards and as I was sifting through them, I found £20 cash and a gift voucher. Very pleased.
The two areas I want to focus on:
1) 15 minute declutter after dinner (thanks for the idea Spagetti Monster).
2) doing a food shop one evening a week after the children are in bed.0 -
You've all done so well! I did a couple of loads of washing this morning but went out with family this afternoon and have only just got in. Hopefully be a little more focused tomorrow.0

Managed to put all the washing away and finally listed the Moses basket and bumbo on eBay and gumtree. Hopefully they sell and I can put the money towards our debt and also free up some room at the same time.

Ok so I had a day off the tread but no a day off organising. I have managed to clean the shower after use everyday since its major clean. However, tomorrow is back to work and mornings will be a bit more rushed. Really need to make the effort, it's only a couple of minutes!
Last night I spent the night eBaying CDs that I haven't listened to for goodness knows how long. Managed to get 1 DVD and 79 CDs listed. Have put them in a box in the conservatory in alphabetical order so it's easy to find any that sell.
Washing all up to date. Just a couple of bits on the airer to dry.
Got jars organised for DS's and am using tub of haribos as rewards for good behaviour. They can collect during the day, give back if badly behaved and eat after tea!
Made a blackberry and apple crumble today from fruit that was in the freezer.
Painted my nails now and going to have an early night as off to work early in the morning. Managed to persuade my mum and sad to have the boys, not something they do very often, but that will save me child minder charges for the day.
