  • Well, I still haven't done today's decluttering task. I have picked up Mum's meds though - had to go to another chemist for her antibiotics as they had none left.

Gorgeestwo, can you use your time on the train to meal plan, decide on areas to declutter, make out a shopping list, etc? If you have a mobile or tablet, can you declutter your email inbox? Or maybe just relax and read a book?

Has anyone sen those floor sweepers that are also steamers?
    Need to hoover/clean floors more

I have a dog and 5 cats..... Have recently bought a floor steamer and can say that it is really great. When I first used it I was unsure that it had really cleaned properly but I wiped it with clean paper towel and I was impressed with how clean it was. It's certainly quicker than filling a bucket and using mop. It dries quicker too. Hope that helps!

Kingfisher - I'm training to be a leader, although i don't think i will ever be a real one as i don't want to make the "promise" I've sworn allegiance to the queen some years ago - That was enough. I'm not making any promises to God. It's just not me. Although I've only been helping at a new pack for 6 weeks, so i haven't any activities I've taken myself I will be expected to this term i think :)

I think the Promise is changing. I'm sure I have heard that Scouting is having a consultation. So you never know, if the Promise does change to something more suitable, you might decide to make your Promise at some point in the future. If not, you are still appreciated, I'm sure, especially if you are prepared to organise some of the activities :)
  • Think I'm doing quite well - I've even made soup with some mushrooms which would otherwise have been thrown out:

[STRIKE]1. One basket of clothes - washed, dried, ironed, put away[/STRIKE] Actually got 4 loads washed, 2 of which are dry - one is in the tumble drier and the other still washing and one load is ironed and put away.

[STRIKE]2. Thank you cards - DDs to complete at least 4 of them[/STRIKE] They have done 2 each which I'm counting as 4

[STRIKE]3. Hallway & Dining Room decs to take-down and put away[/STRIKE] In addition, I've taken all decs down including the tree and packed them away into the loft

    4. Walk or Treasure Trail - DD1 still wasn't well today but felt much better this afternoon so heading out to the coast tomorrow

    5. Phone swimming pool to sort lessons - completely slipped my mind

[STRIKE]6. Any birthday pressies to wrap for DD1.[/STRIKE]

[STRIKE]7. DD1 birthday card - freebie due from Clintons

    8. All the xmas boxes to get out of the loft[/STRIKE]

    [STRIKE]9. Birthdays/Appointments to calendar/filofax/diary

    10. Recipe Index Cards box[/STRIKE] Ordered online to come into store next week

    [STRIKE]11. £15 amazon voucher - friends birthday

    12. Check on delivery times to Australia

    13. Kids Cinema - check what is on this week[/STRIKE] Hoping to go on Friday

    14. All bathrooms to clean - there is still time to get this done tonight

    15. New table cloth needed for kitchen - next time I'm in town I will get one. Seems pointless spending money on diesel to travel into town for just one item

    16. Find room for DD2's xmas presents and put away - there is so much stuff and I keep putting it off

Fab site! Thanks for that - and you can sync the calendar to a smart phone :-) perfect!

Happy organised New Year to all...
  • Hi there and Happy New Year,

last night was a bit of a wash out for me - had really bad headache/migraine and went to bed early, but at least managed to sleep through some incredibly loud fireworks!

So today, just taking it easy. Will try and make sure I use up things that need eating/leftovers and give the fridge a bit of a tidy up.

BTW, wanted to recommend this film documentary which I really enjoyed - very interesting/shocking to see how another mum organises her household (although I don't think she'd be on MSE in a million years!!):

Oops, didnt manage to clean and dust the lounge last night, although i did tidy it up before we all watched 'Journey 2 The Mysterious Island'.
So i am going to catch up on that today. Shouldn't take too long-the advantage of having a tiny house!
