  • Please becareful on this kind of deal. I have been lured into taking this cashback deal twice from this organisation and still, to this day, have not seen a penny of cash back. I haven't received a reply to any of my letters either!
  • When is a good deal, not a good deal? I have been lured into a cashback mobile deal twice and am still fighting to get my cashback. I use the term "fighting" lightly as it's difficult to fight when the provider doesn't reply to your letters! Please beware. Seriously look at non cashback deals, cos the big providers aren't interested in small individuals, we are unlikely to damage their reputation.
  • Just thought I'd let you know about my experience with e2save: Big Carphone Warehouse cash back and their so called recorded delivery advice.

Our family have had 7 phones or more on cash back offers from e2save.

We received our cashback except for one of them. When I challenged them about why I had not received the cash back they said that they had not received the claim for it.

I had sent it by recorded delivery as they demanded.

I proceeded to check up with the post office about the receipt of the cashback letter and was told that they did not have a signature for my cashback letter from e2save. In other words e2save had not signed for the receipt of my letter.

Fair enough I thought maybe it had not been delivered. As I had sent another claim on the same day for which I had received my cashback I proceeded to check the post office delivery record for it. I found that there was no signature of receipt from e2save for this claim for cashback either. How strange??

Then I checked up with all my other cashback recorded delivery claims which had been paid out to me. None of these had been signed for by e2save.

I therefore had no claim for loss against the post office apart from the £1 fee.

Sending via recorded delivery gives you no protection with e2save because they did not sign for the receipt of any of the cashback claims that I sent to them.

The post office told me that e2save have loads of recorded delivery letters but they do not have a proper post room set up to process them and sign for each one.

Therefore you are wasting your money using recorded delivery and it is impossible to get any sense from e2save if you have a legitimate complaint.

Their call center so called customer service help line is a misnomer. When I told them that I had been paid for one of my claims but not the other they told me to send the next months mobile bill and everything would be ok. I did do that (all recorded delivery too); I received nothing. Following up with further letters and phone calls they told me that the bill that I had sent them was outside the 30 day limit!!!!

No! No! No! Do not be seduced by the Big Name Carphone Warehouse its just like any old tinpot back entry didler mobile phone supplier.

I have since bought a phone on cashback from The Link which worked a treat.

    Best wishes

Morning Guys, I just thought I would reply to a few of your posts.

Blarm: If you bought a phone on O2 we request that you attached the number that you have ported as we deal with these ports in house.

If you buy your phone on Virgin, T-Mobile, Orange & 3 the port is done via the network themselves (we call these DIY ports). For this we need the original number attaching that we provided not your ported number.

Buckrogers1: we are not trying to mislead you we send the info on how to claim and when. By making these posts I am attempting to help make it as transparent as possible. If you take out the contract today (April) that is month one so the first physical bill you receive is the bill to send. Often a customer will look at the date range on the bill and get confused. Please rest assured we are not trying to deliberately confuse you. As with the Virgin deal in question you need to send the 3rd and 6th bill.

AGJ22526259: We are not luring people into a cashback deal. If you wish to discuss your experience on both contracts you took out please contact the cash back team on 0845 655 1246. Customer services assure me if we have made a mistake we will pay out.

Dont forget guys if you have any queries you can visit our online cashback centre at:

    http://www.e2save.com/faq.php?show=CAA

Or our help desk at http://www.e2save.com/faq.php

Or indeed call customer services on 0845 655 5522.

    Regards,

For some reason I cannot get this deal - my order has been both cancelled, and awaiting stock!

If you sign up for this are you able to retain your existing mobile number? Also, would there be any problems using it internationally? I seem to remember I had a virgin pay as you go phone a few years ago and had to pay a £200 bond to use it overseas.

I just got the Virgin SIM in question without considering this. It has a £150 depost requirement if you travel in the first three months.

The documentation suggests that this is just a credit that goes on your account, which would be fine except that most people on this deal will only spend 15x6 = £90 with Virgin (the cashback cheques are a seperate e2save thing).

That means that after 6 months you still have £70 credit on your virgin account to spend. I've no idea if they would refund this should you leave and join another network after that.

BTW I ordered yesterday, the card came this morning, and the 36.50 cashback has shown up as 'tracked' on Quidco already.

    The phone is with Virgin.

So I should put the original number on the voucher and send it with my Virgin phone bill. Are you sure that it won't get rejected because the bill is for a different number.

Is there a non 0845 geographic number to phone as I like many other on here don't pay for geographic calls.

Re one posters dissatisfaction, saying the company did not sign-i believe this is common practice, but how do we stand.Presumably they have now said all we need is proof of posting so then the signing is irrelevant isnt it?

I just spoke to customer services and to save confusion they advised for you to put the original number in and the ported number in brackets - so e.g.:

    07777777777 (ported: 07888888888)

That is the only number we have. The last time I checked there were no calls in the queue so you should get straight through.

    Thanks,

    BEWARE
I was coaxed into taking the Virgin sim when I bought the Nokia 6300 last week from OSPS, I have since returned it as I can't keep swapping sim cards, as I use my phone for work. Anyway I was not informed when the cashbacks are due on either the phone or the sim card, so put my phone no and order no into the cashback calculator and only the virgin sim came up and it said that there was no cashback deal attached to this phone. Looks like another complaint to OSPS cs dept
