  • Great Post Martin,

Just one thing to add.., If you are already getting anything from Virgin media, ie, Broadband, Home Landline Phone, or Telly, they will give you a Sim Card only deal for £10 per month, which gives you 300 anytime any network minutes, and 300 texts, AND you are free to cancel within a month, so you are not tied in to a contract.

So, i paid a fiver for some chav on the market to unlock my phone which was tied to orange, requested the PAC code, and transferred my existing number to Virgin which was pretty painless, and for £25 LESS i am getting 250 more texts and 100 more minutes with their 300/300 offer.

The customer services people said that it was normally £20 per month for 300/300 on the sim only option if you did not have any services with them.

Maybe they have stopped doing this offer but its worth a punt I reckon.

    Cheers

    Tony

Does any-one know how long this offer is available? I have a contract with CPW which expires in August and this sim only deal would suit me fine. I am thinking it would be worth getting as I don't use my full allowance of calls on this contract. I must join Quidco as I see it mentioned on the site often, I presume it is a discount club thingy. Thanks in advance for any replies and for the tips etc., on so many subjects.

  • Be aware of misleading information regarding claiming your cashback. I have already taken this offer up and it is the second free deal that I have taken up with E2Save. However you must sned back the correct bill to get your money and they deliberately try to confuse you so that you will not be able to claim.
If it says to send your third bill, it will actually be the second bill that you send. This is because the first bill you actually recieve will usually cover more than one month and will count as your first two bills. This is made clear in the small print, but if you don't read it carefully it can easily be missed. This is also why they only give you 30 days in the hope that you will not realise before it is too late.

'Quidco' is a straightforward rebate scheme and covers a wide range of retailers and services such as gas and electricity supplies. Well worth joining.

I am with Virgin Media so would be interested in the £10 a month deal - however the SIM offer via Quidco earning £36.50 or £50, plus complete £90 rebate for 6 months contract does seem better (£60+£36.50 or £60+£50 better off) for less usage.

I think for Mr EL the SIM deal, for me perhaps the £10pm from Virgin media deal as I need the 300 text / 300 mins.

Be very careful if you port your number.

When you fill in the cashback voucher you need to put your phone number which matches your airtime bill that you are sending in. But e2save will not recognise this number as it is not the original. If you put the original number on the voucher then this will not match the airtime bill. I put the new number on the voucher and got a letter back saying that my cashback had already been paid for this contract as the number was from the previous contract which I had ported the number from.

I could get no information from e2save as to the correct procedure when using a ported number and it has taken several long phonecalls to get my cashback, which I will probably have to repeat when sending in the next cashback voucher.

Does the e2save representative on here have any advice for claiming cashback after porting your number.

Also in the phone discussions I had to prove that I had sent in the voucher by giving the post office special delivery number which they then checked against the old contract and found the voucher and airtime bill. If I had sent it in by recorded delivery then I would not have had a delivery number, just a stamped recorded receipt.

As already established - e2save don't expect us to spend around £5 using special delivery. Had you used recorded delivery you would have had a reference number to quote as well.

    Evening Skeksis,

I may well be wrong, but these days it's much easier to get a PAC (Port authorisation code) from the network provider you are leaving to transfer your phone number to whichever network you then decide to join. Whether it works in quite the same way with Pay As You Go I'm not sure, as the networks aren't making quite the same money out of you!

    Hope this helps, Ed

    Thanks Ed

I wanted a new number anyway, but I didn't want to end up spending more than I needed to as I have been with my contract and be tied into another contract as well.
