I do the 610 every day to work, out of Nottingham towards M1

I get to this nuthall roundabout, and like the idiot I am I actually wait my turn, with other law abiding decent people.

I think this is an issue for town planning in general , but also in my opinion the police and law - when you get past the fact that traffic lights are placed IMMEDIATELY off roundabouts on the way out there, which in itself I think is extremely dangerous...... there's this island where right pretty much leads nowhere next to the M1 everyone wants, and as a result wholesale bad driving is prevalent.

And what the self important do there is drive cooly up the right, pretending they're going right, then indicate left on the roundabout itself to get to the M1 faster. They actually change on the roundabout , and jump the queue, and I'm unashamedly English, I hate queue jumpers - what gives them right, is their job more important than mine?

I'm bored, but more than that I'm angry, and have a reasonably powerful car, so I've started blocking the w**nkers that do this. slowing down and speeding up to make sure justice prevails at least while it's my watch, you could call it sad but its the drive to work and I'm English and I dislike queue jumpers , and then the cheek of it they beep me when I send one right who surely was going right......right?

I cannot get how some four ringed driving t** actually thinks they have the higher ground trying to nick my place and then beeping me when I am one of the few who dares set them straight on the issue! Perhaps this lack of understanding right and wrong, let alone right and left is the very thing that got them into behaving like a banker with a silent B in favour of the W in the first place?

Your post, or should I say rant, doesn't make a lot of sense. The A610, as you full well know is a dual carriageway, actually 3 lanes as you approach the island. Drivers are perfectly allowed to drive in the right-hand (middle) lane to pass slower traffic on the left, it's called overtaking not "queue jumping"!

The only person in the wrong here is you for driving like a complete idiot and potentially putting other drivers at risk, not to mention breaking the law.

So your deliberately being obstructive in what you see as vigilante justice... and even worse, doing this on a round about making the situation much more hazardous.

It's not personal, so not sure why you're taking it to heart.

On the occasion you caused a driver to actually turn right... it's more than likely he just circled the round about and made a second attempt... this time having right of way being on the round about already... cost the car a few extra seconds, but still skipped a line of traffic so not really loosing much here.

As an aside, I wonder how far you would take this attitude... if somebody was over taking you perhaps?

no it's you that does not make sense, I am not in the left lane, I am in the middle lane one of the two legitimate lanes to go straight over, the queue jumpers are in the right only lane , they then change to the centre lane on the roundabout

so it is queue jumping and it isn't overtaking

please get your facts right before criticising !

Are you taking the straight on at the M1 Roundabout for the Giltbrook ridiculous 40mph dual carriageway, which means the lane to your right is for M1 north or is it the roundabout before which leads off to Strelly etc? Just trying to identify the roundabout, I use the road on a regular basis

I don't know the location but from the description it sounds like any place where a 3 lane road reduces to 2 except that presumably it was 2 lane at the approach to the roundabout and only increased to 3 actually on the roundabout. If that's the case then the 3 lane bit is very short and I can see that it's cheeky to nip into lane 3 and then back into lane 2. Is lane 3 marked as right turn only?

No such thing as "queue jumping", it's this attitude which causes most of the trouble on British roads!!!

You see a "queue jumper", I see someone making the line of traffic shorter for everyone else.

There's a large motorway roundabout on my way to work, 2 lanes onto it, 3 lanes on the roundabout.
Lane 1 is left onto M5(N) and another B road beyond that turn.
Lane 2 is M5(S) and all right turns.
    Traffic for M5(N) is minimal/none
Traffic for M5(S) is HUGE, at least 15mins wait.
I want to go right, im not gonna sit in a "queue" for M5(S), so I take the LH lane and zip into the lane I need once it's clear. I haven't "queue jumped", i've made the "queue" shorter for those behind me, im doing a community service!! :p

On the other hand if I were heading down the M5(S), i'd stay in lane and wait my turn.

What really riles me is when people block both lanes of a dual-carriageway to stop people using the road the way it was meant to be used!

Another thing that riles me is when people take this "queue mentality" onto normal single carriageway roads. Example - driving home yesterday I overtake a slow car, he tries to force me into the ditch and then leans on the horn, the car in front of him lets me pass with no issues and so he gets a nice single shot of hazards as a "thankyou", I wasn't "queue jumping" I wasn't being aggressive, but some idiots just have this mentality that even on an empty road, anyone overtaking is "queue jumping".
“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Op is correct, there are four lanes on the roundabout, lanes one and two are marked M1 which is the second exit, lanes three and four are marked B600 which is at about three o'clock on the roundabout, obviously lanes one and two are the busiest, so the BMW owners club use lane three and cut across into two, have a look at Google Earth it shows the setup better than explaining.
