I asked because you dont seem to think like anyone else I know around my age which is 38. I had thought maybe you are a lot younger, but you arent really so its got nothing to do with it.

But thats just down to different social groups, attitudes etc... Thats the beauty of mse... you can discuss and find out attitudes of people that perhaps in 'real life' you'd never get to know...
You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....

I also find it interesting that I have been with my husband for 15 years and most of the posters arguing with me are single. When you live with a man day in day out for most of your adult life you get to understand them.

I've been with my husband for 10yrs, we're both in our mid 30s and have had plenty of relationships before we met so your comment really is patronising.

I also have 3 brothers and have had male friends all my life.

I'm 36, have been married for 18 years, and agree about the understanding part, but not with the 'them' part. I understand mr tru completely, but I don't understand men completely. They're all different, just like us girls ;):D

I think that we have established that some married couples can accept that there OH has a friend of opposite sex,and that this can work, and that in most cases is innocent.
However in th OP's case she obviously has reason to worry about this particular female friend, otherwise she wouldn't have posted!!!
I hope everything is ok Kerry and post back soon to let us know you are ok.

Haha, I just showed this to mr tru -

He says yes I should be grateful and I can pay him in favours later :rotfl:

Mr tru has had it offered to him on a plate by 2 different people  He'd never met either of them before, one didn't know he was married - once he told her she apologised and backed off. The other knew, a mutual friend told her he's married with 2 kids, and she thought it was OK because she'd never met me

Mr tru has known our female friend since they were 13, he introduced her to his mate (who he met when he was 14). I met them when I was 17, a few weeks after meeting mr tru. They're married now, with 3 kids. His mate is my boss. Are you confused yet? :rotfl: If she rings and wants a rant about something but I'm not there and mr tru answers the phone, she'll say to him "oh well, I suppose you'll do" :D Same with me and the husband/boss/friend.

I just don't see the problem

There is no problem in that scenario becaue you BOTH are happy with it and also its not a "new" thing.

you have known each other a long time etc etc ,she was on the scene so to speak before you, along term childhood friend

Its when its a new thing for your relationship and your OH "suddenly" starts having friends of the opposite sex then it could / can become a "problem" within the marriage / relationship, and alarm bells would / should ring IMO

Every relationship is so different, which is why theres so much "arguing" about it on this thread lol ,no one is right or wrong ,just have different expectations / boundaries within their own marriages :)

Oh i completly agree!!! I can understand, that if you're not a part of my circle of friends, that maybe our relationships look as if their crossing the line. But theyre not. We know the scores, and partners and wives know the score, we're all happy, secure and slightly childish at times! But thats just us. We're all friends cause we have a great love of surfing, which is perhaps a bit of a 'blokey' sport, and whereas some of my males friends wives arent interested, they've never had a problem with the fact I am. I just happen to be a woman. Im a proper 'lad', I like my beer, my dirty jokes, my surfing. Im not a 'girly girl' at all, and naturally prefer the company of blokes to women. Its nothing to do with sex, and everything to do with 'me' being 'me'.. even as a kid I had many more male friends than female..
