I think it's commendable, there's a difference between office banter and banter via text, one is in the public domain the other private (relatively anyway) private and personal should be reserved for your partner or spouse in my opinion, but then again I do have a good deal of grey hair.

Thank you. You have just summed up what I was trying to get across. Public relationships with the opposite sex I have no problems with. Anything private, like texts, e-mails, I feel are inappropriate when married.

Private should be saved for your spouse.

been in a very similar situation a female collegue at my hubbies work,
first it was a few text messages, then she uped the anti phoning the house and talking to my daughter, i confronted hubby who thought it was big joke so it went on i totally lost the plot and pressed the issue when he relised it was really affecting me he stopped answering the phone and didn't respond to text messages she got really mad with him and he soon saw her in a different light.
please put the brakes on now it is obvouisly bothering you
on the up side it did improve our relantionship which with two young children had fallen into a boring pattern so we both started to make the effort.
i wish you all the luck trusting your husband is one thing, but you don't know her so don't trust her. tell your hubby how you feel.good luck

Why? I am not sad about it. I prefer the company of females.

I prefer the company of good people...whether they be male or female....I don't discriminate and limit myself based on gender.

totally agree with you there, it's what's inside that counts, be you white or black, male or female, gay or straight or bi -makes no difference to me as long as you are a good person who I enjoy the company off

I believe that most of the replies on this thread are from females, it's very interesting to see the posts from the few men who have replied, it would be nice to read some more actually - it's interesting the difference in our reactions

Just as an aside, I've been married for 14 years....been 'going out' with my wife for 18 years....known her for maybe 25 years or so. She gets a regular (monthlyish) letter (which I don't read) from a guy she was at college with before I met her & it doesn't bother me at all. In fact it's the opposite....it annoys me that she doesn't write to him as often as he writes to her. I think that anyone, male or female, who makes the effort over that number of years to keep in contact with a friend deserves respect not condemnation.

Lots of differing views here, not surprising as we're all different. As a bloke, can I just say that to do anything that your wife finds threatening is totally out of order. Who knows what is in the OP's OH's mind? He needs to reassure her, dispel her fears.

    I'm amazed....
Reading this thread has made me realise how different some people/ couples are. I am so glad I have got the freedom to have the friends I wish to have, to text male friends, to call them, to meet up with them or invite them round, to have some flirty banter with them.... all that without being suspected of the worst by my boyfriend.
    Today I'm counting myself lucky!
