I can`t believe I didn`t . I was trying to calm down my daughter who was a bit shook up. I couldn`t even say what type of car it was (prefer motorbikes). Hopefully the lads had more nous than me.

Fair enough. I hope they do get nicked though. Regardless of the debate, they got it wrong and need sorting before they do it again.

why is it a pity? do you think getting points and a fine would stop me?

talking of pity, you have mine as you appear to be missing some important parts of life... like enjoying yourself.

I have no doubt it would not stop you but it is a pity as it shows how pointless many laws/rules etc are if they are not followed and people are allowed to get away with flaunting them.
What speeding while talking on a mobile phone has to do with enjoying myself I fail to see.
We all evolve - get on with it

Come on, lighten up. Scheming-gypsy is taking the pi$$! Of course points on his licence would stop him - if he accumulated enough of them they would take his licence away.

Trouble is, the OP asked a simple question,so that he will get an idea of what to expect and the usual mob of holier than thou/better than thou have jumped in,the OP knows he was in the wrong and was just asking advice. As Hermione54 says --- lighten up people,he was only asking a question, and if the undoubted angels who replied to this thread cant see that ...its their problem
I would love some decent telly on a Saturday night

I went to the village chippy with my daughter yesterday. The pavement is narrow..... No doubt the idiot driving thought he was `driving according to the conditions`.
He quite clearly wasn't taking account of the conditions.
    Happy chappy

I know that, you know that, but he probably thought he was. Until he hit the kid.
