It depends on what you had signed when you accepted before. If you haven't signed anything go ahead if you have then read it carefully as soon do state that once accepted and paid you cannot claim again,

I'm wondering how much longer this thread can continue - how many times have you got to reclaim before you realise it is your actions that are causing you the problem ?
I agree! It is rather sad and depressing to see that some people are already considering their second claim while many of us are still waiting for any sort of refund! We all agree that that the banks charges are excessively high, or were - I think some of the banks have started to address this. And we all know that going even a few pounds overdrawn at the wrong time of the month can lead to a downward spiral of charges on charges that end up costing more than the original 'misdeamour'. It's so frustrating and I remember phoning my bank (NatWest) to have a rant about it on a number of occasions (and that was years before the whole bank charges reclaiming thing took off). Sometimes, they would refund the charge as a 'goodwill' gesture when I had a good explanation, and I was surprised at how many refunds I found as I was going through my statements, but mostly I was just told that I had an overdraft limit and I had gone over it.
Much as I dislike the way banks operate, they are a business and not a charity. We all understand that if we breach the t & c's of our account we will incur a penalty. I hope that what comes out of all of this is a radical overhaul of the banks' policy on charges so it is fairer and more transparent. However, I'm sure they will still have the right to charge customers who do not manage their accounts properly.
I don't mean to sound smug and unsympathetic (I have been there - hence my claim for £974 - BUT I have not had a charge in over 2 years because I learned my lesson and took on a second job until I got myself back on track!) but if you are back in the same position as before you got your wedge of money, you need to look at the reasons why this has happened, maybe help and practical advice is required.
My friend works for Barclays and she manages the student banking section. She tells them, "your overdraft is a limit not a target"!0 -
Hi,
I have reclaimed bank charges successfully but have since been charged over £200 in charges since March of this year.
When I initially was refunded (part of) my charges the bank issued me a letter saying I wouldn'e be able to claim anymore.
Is this right:? Or can I do it again.
Its urgent because I am now over my overdraft and they are demanding that I pay it all back.
PLEASE HELP!0 -
If you got your money back successfully, where did it go? You can claim back future amounts, I reckon, as they're nothing to do with the original settlement. I know nothing of your circumstances, but I only hope that you didn't see this money as 'extra' money to be spent. These reclaimations are best spent sitting in your account to keep you from going into (let alone over) your overdrafts.0

You can claim back future amounts as they are seperate from the original claim you made.
Some banks review the added amount you have been charged and add these to the existing claim,I know Natwest have such a system in place from personal experience.
However the banks do seem to be threatening to close accounts or reducung your account to their most basic so you would have no overdraft facilities etc. making it impossible to incur any future charges.
I would personally, if you havent already, ask for this amount to be added to your original claim or start the process again.NATWEST Amount Claimed £2860 Amount Received £2860
CLYDESDALE FINANCIAL SERVICES Amount Claimed £85.00 Amount Received £42.500 -
Hi
My claim against the Woolwich has finally started to come to a pleasing end! I have today received a latter from Barclays Litigation stating that they will settle my case in full (£3040.92) and, although they are not admitting liability (of course!), they say that it would be a waste of the court's time if we go ahead with our pre-trial review on 28th June - HOORAY, I'VE ONLY BEEN TELLING THEM THAT FOR FIVE MONTHS!!!
Anyway, I had to sign a latter saying that I would accept their offer, and have faxed it back to them stating that I want the money in my account in 7 days (optimistic maybe!), but I have more charges to claim now - these have been added onto my account since the case was started in January.
My question is, should I just go straight to the top, and send my initial letter to the Litigation lady who has dealt with this, or do I need to write to Customer Servcies at Barclays again???
Has anybody else had a similar situation, and if so, what would you suggest?
Any help greatly received.
Will keep you posted as and when I finally win and the money hits my account ... BIG PHEW ... ! I was dreading court on 28th June!!!
Thanks0 -
I have has the same thing happen to me today,Nat West will settle what I asked but since they have took more money from my account and not sure whether to ring and ask for what they have just took again, or accept and forget this last lot.0

Hi,
If you feel that NatWest would be receptive to a call, then I would say go for it, but in my case, Barclays (and initally Woolwich) have been a right pain, and I doubt that they would entertain the idea of adding the recent charges on.
Good luck in getting all of your cash back!0 -

So do you think I should not bother and take what I asked for, that theyare offering, the second amount was £150 which to me is alot but don't want to lose my original amount. Really don't know what to do?
Wonder if this has happened to anyone else?
Advice please0
