    Hi,

Has anyone had any success in reclaiming credit card charges a 2nd time around. I know I was stupid to get them but I have since had my LBM and would like to get the debt down so I can start to get myself together.

    Thanks

  • Thanks for your help - have added up how much the Halifax have charged me since November last year and its a whopping £2495 !!!!! Will get on to it straight away.
  • Put the claim in anyway you have nothing to lose. You may meet the financial hardship criteria.

Seriously though with charges of that amount in such a short period of time you really do need to look at how you manage your finances. I don't mean to lecture you but have a look around the boards for information on getting out of debt, saving money, budgeting etc.

    Good luck.

    Hi Everyone,

Last year I reclaimed over £4000 from Lloyds tsb and so far this year have racked up over £1000 which has pretty much crippled me, as you can imagine!

It got as far as them putting money into my acount two days before court, now, can I claim again?

I'm £2500 overdrawn with them and have total debts of £5000 ish, it may not seem much to you, but I'm self employed and need every penny. Does this qualify me as "in financial hardship"?
  • Hi i am new here. I am going through the posts and have not seen anything that is the same as what i want to know. Sorry if i have missed a thread showing this.
I got a good will payment from the Halifax. They gave me £495 out of £975 that they charged me over the 6 years.
I have managed to stay in the black for the last 2 years but recently incurred charges of only £70.
I wrote to them and told them i was shutting my account down and that their charges were unlawful.
They have ignored this and sent a letter threatening bailiffs or court action unless i pay them.
They have put my account overdrawn with these charges.
    What can i do?

I am in a similar situation with A&L. However, I complained about the charges along the same lines as on the reclaiming part of this website and they have put the claim on hold until the case is heard. I have opened another account now elsehwere and haven't heard off A&L since about December. I would do the same if I were you. Put in a reclaim letter and send it recorded.
