hi i claimed my bank charges back last july,i asked for £711 and 4 weeks later i got a offer off £668 which i took.since october 07 i had another £140 took out of my account,i have just found out via this website that as i am on income support they aren't supposed to take any money from my account.i phoned natwest on saturday and spoke to them and a very nice lady asked which charge i would like to claim back and i told her all of them since october and she gave me the address to send a letter to.This lady was very nice and extremely helpful.i have posted a letter today asking for my charges back so i'm just waiting for them outcome on that.i was wondering if anyone has been successful in claiming twice ?
this bank was natwest0 -
Hi - Can anyone help? I successfully reclaimed bank charges from the Halifax a couple of years ago. Recently I have had three more charges from them - am I able to make another claim? When I called them last week, they said that when I accepted the payment the first time around, I had to sign a document saying that this waived my rights to make any further claims for unfair bank charges. Is this legal?? Thanks0

No it's not. Regardless of the wording of what you signed, you cannot sign away your legal rights. You can make subsequent claims on newer charges, but be aware that they may decide to close your a/c second time around.0

At the beginning of last year, I made a claim for a refund of bank charges with HSBC and was successful in receiving over £900 back. Since then however, i have continued to be charged and have now had a further £150 debited from my account in charges. Do you think it is likely that I would be able to make another claim for the additional monies?struggling to be debt free.....0

My Daughter went to the small claims court and received money from Lloyds Bank for charges on her account (a payout of 900.00 ish) since this being paid back to her account, she has had further charges on her account, which are 215.00 per month (20.00 per day up to a max of 10 days for being over 100.00 overdrawn, also another 15.00 for priveledge of going overdrawn) she has set up an arrangement on the account to pay off 30.00 per month with the bank, but with the 'charges' this will never be paid off! Can she claim back the charges again, even though she has had a payment through the small claims court, as the charges seem very unfair, as she is within the overdraft on her account and has spoken to Lloyds and set up an arrangement to pay it off??
Another question, if she was to take out a loan and pay off the account and close it, could she then claim back the charges after the OFT have reached the decision at High Court, if charges were deemed unfair??
Please advise of both if possible!

Hi Moneysavers, first post on the site, need some advice please.last year i claimed charges back from rbs, when i recieved the refund i signed a document to say i would not make further claims, stupid or what,i was so glad to get the money at the time i never thought about what the outcome would be,have i signed my rights away or can i make a new claim if the test case goes according to plan and the charges are illegal.
All advice greatfully recieved0 -
Does anyone know the answer to this one? I have had so many charges and claimed just a few of them back from Halifax (totalling like £1,000) a few years back but i would like to claim again as i have had another truck load of charges since! Recon its possible?0

I succesfully claimed £2500 from natwest last year, and i signed an agreement but not sure what it actually said.
Surely its the same as signing when you open your account so if they are still being unlawful just cause you signed it doesnt mean its legal!!??
I have had a couple hundred of charges since and am thinking about claiming again.
I dont care if they close the account so basically the question is will they pay me out??
thanks for any advice.
