Good MOrning everyone, another beautiful day!
MrsMix sorry to hear about your sleepless night...hope you get your injection eventually. Were you worrying about it? I've hated injections ever since I had to give a blood sample and the nurse couldn't find a vein...but I won't go into that, as it's not for the squeamish.
<ticklemouse> hang in there. Waiting is very difficult, I can imagine it feels like your whole life is on hold waiting for this one thing to happen.
Well done to the dieters (Amie et al).
Racy, I love the stories about the coots, thank you for keeping us up to date
OldMcDonald - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! have a good one.
<Hugs> to those who had nightmares - Taplady, Catowen, Catznine, heather, anniebooklover
Amanda You've probably already done this, but jujst in case... have you asked all your neighbours to check their sheds and garages etc? We were catsitting for my son's cat and the little b*gger escaped. I ended up leafletting about 200 houses, but someone had seen him, and eventuallyh we got him back. (In the meantime I thought I had found him, but it turned out to be the neighbours cat who was similarly marked). Believe it or not, not all shelters scan for chips, some of the smaller shelters don't have the equipment.
Annie, congratuloations on the new job! How great is that?
Snoozer well done on the promotion!
Queenie I had to smile about the Maths homework. Well done you. The fitness class will be fine, just get yourself a comfortable pair of joggers (tracksuit bottoms). Then when you get there, see if you enjoy it, and see what the others are wearing. If they are all in lycra then it might not be for you. (I'm putting myself on you there, I went to one keep fit class once and everyone else looked like they didn't need to lose any weight and were in lycra. However, I've been to others were the fol seemed perfectly normal).
<Hugs> to everyone else, because it's Thursday, and sometimes you just need a hug.
I'm off to Waitrose today, haven't actually been into a store for aaaages as I have Ocado deliver my shopping every couple of weeks. Cupboards and freezer are well stocked though, but there are a few things I need but not enough to get delivered. I could probably find enough to make up a delivery, but that's not very OS.
Lunch and dinner will be HM mushroom soup for me; dinner for DH is Chilli Con carne and rice.
Have swish & swiped the kitchen, unloaded DW etc, that's enought for today I think.
Oh, there's an article on Radio 4 right now about Grandmothers Recipes (unprocessed foods etc) and a new website for Grandmas to share their recipes for future generations. It includes videos so you can see techniques and amounts etc. People send in their own videos of their grandma cooking! Or photos!
You will be able to listen to the article on the listen again page of the Radio 4 website. It's Woman's Hour, 10.23am - ish.
Here's a link to the Woman's Hour page with the article on http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/womanshour/04/2007_16_thu.shtml
And here's a link to the "WHat's Cooking Grandma?" website http://www.whatscookinggrandma.net/
Have a great day

Cats! Mine go missing occasionally and then I spend the entire time fretting and wringing my hands and then the cat will turn up and look at me like "wot? What ya fussing 'bout woman?" *sigh* I'm sure it'll be fine
Was in London yesterday for a meeting - all about the threat landscape of malware and security - I'm sure that will bore everyone else to tearsBut I found it very interesting and also very disturbing how malware has changed due to our social engineering - scary stuff...
Got home to find phone line was dead - no dial tome and NO broadband... NOT happy! Called Talktalk and spent 46 minutes on hold or tryign to get through and eventually was told the department had closed for the evening... I was FUMING! 46 minutes on my mobile to an 0870 number - just to be told call back tomorrow. Useless! Anyway called them at 8 on the dot this morning and spent 16 minutes on the phone before someone answered and put me through and THEY offered to call me back on the mobile... *hrmph* - "An engineer will look into it in the next 24-48 hours - so I blew my lid and told them it would be fixed this morning - that wasn't a request that was a fact. I am supposed to get a call back from the manager or someone in complaints (HA!) about the uselessness last night and just tested the phone line now and it's magically working again and OH can get online and check his mails so he's happy.
I however am NOT amused about the total lack of care last night - if I ran my support centre like that I'd be fired!
Anyway - work don't knwo when they will replace my laptop (screen is dead) as no-one will sign off the cost - IT'S DEAD - YOU WANT ME TO WORK? REPLACE IT! ARGH!!!
And added to that then I made some veggie lasagna the other night and OH refuses to eat it because it's got no meat in it... So I've frozen it and hope he'll forget it's vegetarian before I try and dish it upMEN
Hugs to everyone who's having a rough day!!!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Well it's all systems go here as the fridge freezer I talked DP into which said estimated delivery is coming on Monday. Have just phoned the school to complain about not being told DS was not handing his homework in since Sept 2006 and have made an appointment to see the SEN coordinator as DS is on School Action Plus since he lost his statement a couple of years ago. He copes so well most of the time that I think the school forget about his needs so I hope we can sort something out together to get him back on track!Do what you love :happyhear0

There was an article on R4's You and Yours programme yesterday (sorry, I have R4 on ALL the time) about running, and part of it was about some older people doing marathons. There was one guy in his seventies who regularly runs 7 marathons in 7 days. He is planning to run 10 marathons in 10 days now. And someone else (or it might have been the same guy) who only started running when he retired. So you're never too old. Apparently.
Here's a link to the webpage. It doesn't mention the older runners in the blurb, but you can access the "listen again" feature from the page.

Taplady: that's APPALLING!! That's half a year! Statemented or not, they should have been on to you after the second week...what if it was a symptom of something seriously wrong at home (not that it is, but they don't know that). They have really failed your son. <<hug>>0 -
Morning Everybody
Another lovely sunny day down here in Devon.
Hope everybody feeling poorly / under the weather/ generally down in the dumps feels better soon :-)
Haven't had a chance to read through the posts yet, as I've been very busy finishing off spring cleaning my kitchen, which I started yesterday. It's now finished, and looks fab - I'm so pleased I made the effort. Only trouble is I broke the big glass plate from inside the microwave while washing it (bu***r!) - so will have to get in touch with Panasonic and try and get a replacement.
Just got a little pile of ironing to do, and dust and hoover my breakfast room, and then I'm going to treat myself to an hour in the garden with my book - lovely!
DS is back at school today, so school run later, then he's got karate, so won't be home again till sixish, but it's chilli out of the freezer for DH for dinner, and scampi and salad for me, so not much to prepare there.
Need to spend an hour in the office later on as my filing and in tray are starting to pile up rather a lot. Also want to list a few things on eBay.
Have a lovely (and OS) afternoon everybody
See you later
Caroline

Hello everybody, hugs to all and my what a lot of bithdays we have here!!
Love the idea of the granny websites and will be having a nosey in a mo - never had a nana as they'd all popped off before I arrived on the scene - bit of an extreme way to get out of buying a Christmas present if you ask me:D
Didn't sleep at all well last night as I think I may have overdone it a tad as my wound is REALLY painful on one side and it's swollen too. So Mr Rage has forbade me from doing any tootalling in the garden or lifting anything so looks like it's letter writing and reading for me today. Don't forget everyone that it's 10p listing day on e-bay!
Haven't felt like breakfast today but will be having Spanish omlette for lunch and savoury mince with spinach (for my possible anaemia) for dinner. Good job I didn't order the spanish omlette when Mr Rage took me out to the happy hour at the tapas bar yesterday as I was a bit upset. Speaking of which I'm going to take a break after today from posting as although I've put on a brave face in my usual flippant style over the past few days, I have been quite angered and hurt by a couple of comments. So I will check in with you all later - be good everyone!:DBut I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
well went to the soliciters and guess what MIL has cancelled the cheque i could have cried have called OH at work and he is now on the phone speaking to the soliciter and calling me back the only good thing is by doing this they have acknowledged that they owe OH this money but it now looks like we might have to go to court
well soliciter is writing to them today to ask why and also that we will only accept electronic transfer now and no more cheques and giving them 7 days to send the money or go to court
so thats ruined my day hope everyone is ok am sorry to bring you all down but i am just sitting here crying because i dont know what else to do and am shaking with anger0
