TM so sorry to hear about your MIL cancelling the cheque, I would definately take her to court for the money, it is your husbands money and they have no right to hold on to it. Have you any idea how long they have had it?????you are due interest on it too...........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0

the will was settled last june and the money has been held in a bank account till now there is not 1p interest on it so we will have to see what happens next we had just hoped this was the end of it and we could have no more to do with them we havent spoken since 2003 and you can see why it is all down to the fact they can play mind games ie heres a cheque now its not if we have to go to court we will be asking for 8% interest which equates to about £3000 in interest so lets just wait and see but we could have done with the money0

Hi everyone
Happy birthday Oldmcdonald and Miss Catzine and belated greetings to
hilstep2000 didnt have time to come on yesterday had a dreaded off site with work
congratulations snoozer on the promotion and on your new job Lynzpower
Taplady Well done you for contacting the school I know what you mean I always ask my DD14 if she has done all her homework she often comes out "with done it already at homework club or free periods "getting her to revise for her sats is getting a nightmare I have brought her all the books but getting her to actually sit down and do some practise papers I am at wits end with her (especially as my boss DD has done a revision paper every day over the Easter break that went down like a lead balloon with her!!)) hope you get some answers why you havent heard from them till now
thanks for the links dannahaz the granny one looks interesting will have alook later
I have not got much on after work today all up to date with washing and ironing for once, will probably have a cheese salad tonight with chips.
Hugs for everyone not feeling there best todayFrugal challenge 2025

Thanks dannahaz and patentgirl I am wondering now how he is doing with his other subjects too, like your DD patentgirl he is 14 and I agree with you that it is nightmare getting them to revise, with my son I've just got no chance, I dont think the teachers realise how stressful it is!
My son is a wonderful boy who has come so far in his life already, he was diagnosed with an autistic spectrum disorder at 3 years old and was in various units until just before high school, he had a statement from 3 until then when it was taken away due to his amazing progress. He gets no help now at school and sometimes he does struggle, particularly in PE especially team games when he feels victimised about his lack of ability.I have been in contact with them already over this but nothing much seems to change.
He is very talented in some areas but struggles a lot in others such as tying his laces - still cant do it properly at 14.
I am feeling guilty now that I havent been there for him more, but I just didn't realise how much he was struggling with the work, part of his problem is that he never worries about deadlines etc just does things in his own good time there's no hurrying him.
Hopefully things will improve now.
I feel better for getting that off my chest!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Hi everyone!
Hugs to those who need them!
Am a dead chuffed old styler today as put my first wanted out on freecycle for a stainless steel sink for when we start redoing the kitchen shortly. Have got a promising lead so fingers crossed!!
OS today has been hoovering and I am due to do the shopping list tonight in between walking the small person over to Cubs. He's not thrilled because he's got to march in the St George's day parade on Sun and it's extra marching or "stomping" practise as he calls it. He's a fidget like his parents at the best of times [we called him disco dolly when I was pregnant because he never stopped jigging about] so quite how he's going to manage to stand still during the service I have no idea:rotfl: :rotfl:
The plan tonight is to cycle over to my friend's as she wants me to try out some of the Delia carrot cake she's made....she tells me it's the best ever and it would be churlish to refuse now wouldnt it!!
Tea is hm beefburgers with purple sprouting broccoli that I've just got from the market and I was even organised enough to boil some eggs for tomorrow's sarnies.

Hiya all. So sorry not time to read thread so hugs to all.
V. exciting news, hard boiled my first ever egg last night to make an egg sandwhich to take to work. How does one get to over the age of 30 without doing that? Mad eh?
Back to work, hope to catch up this weekend if my internet has been installed.

Just a quick hello whilst I'm waiting for my bread to cool down, so I can have some lunch!
Been away with work for most of the week, so have got back on track with the washing, shopping & housework this morning.
Lynz - congrats on the new job. Enjoy your garden leave
Well done to Snoozer too on the promotion
Ticklemouse - nice to see you back, hang in there
Old McDonald - have a good one!
Queenie - having spent most of my life working in gyms, you'd be amazed at some of the outfits I've seen people wearing to exercise in! Tracksuit bottoms or leggings with a T shirt is more than adequate. The most important things are a decent supportive pair of trainers & a decent supportive bra if you're going to be bouncing around
That bread must be cool by now, I'm starving!
see you all later :wave:0 -
Hi all - hope sun is shinging for you, too!
Happy Birthday catznine! :bdaycake: :bdaycake: My birthday isn't for months yet but I'm not in too much of a hurry!
Hilstep - you don't look 48! Glad you had a good day!:A
Snoozer - well done and have a :j :j great holiday!
Queenie - no more broken bones, today, I hope! I found your meatloaf recipe the other day in the indexed collections and it was divine - will definitely be a regular - delicious hot or cold! Thanks!:A :A
Kyle - poor you and DS1! Hope your dentist gets you sorted out soon!:o
taplady - so glad you're feeling a bit better today!:T :T
tired mum - how awful for you. Don't worry about 'bringing us all down' - we're here for you; in fact we're all here for each other and if we can help by giving you somewhere to sound off, then feel free - don't sit there and seethe when a quick word on here could help you.:A :A
dannahaz - thanks so much for the link to grandmothers' cooking - will definitely take a look in a minute!:T :T
tine - my DH is the same - he MUST have meat! 'What do you think we've got canine teeth for?' he cries! I just chuck a sausage at him!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Amie - you are certainly never too old for the marathon - take it from me, I loved them before they called them Snickers! No, seriously, one of our local heroes runs it every year and he's 74 years old! He's been doing it every year since his wife died of cancer seven years ago to raise funds for cancer charities and he's as fit as a fiddle! Look forward to seeing you do it next year! Me, no, never - well, maybe.....I'll have to think about it!:A :A :j :j
csarina - like you, I recently had to politely decline an invitation to bingo! She simply couldn't understand why I didn't want to go; in the end I just had to say that I couldn't think of anything worse! My OH was there at the time and kept trying to make me go, saying things like 'go on, you're always telling me you'd like to go to bingo but had no-one to go with!' while she was there - did I have words with him after she'd gone!
lilmisskitkat - hope DD is better soon and good luck to SIL when she has the baby!:j :j
Mrs mix - I hope they phone you rather than write - you don't want any delays now. Hope they fit you in asap.:A :A
Rage - please don't stop posting.:A :A
Lynz - many congrats!:j :j
Well, dinner all prepped and ready to cook when DH comes in. Have picked up, fed and watered, entertained and delivered back to her own habitat, my delightful GDD - just cleared up all the playdough!:o:j :j
Had to go shopping this morning, mainly for loo rolls, but the farm shop looked inviting and I bought ENGLISH strawberries for 99p a punnet - definitely early so I hope they've not been forced. They look lovely. Also bought a marrow, some rhubarb, an aubergine, two huge beef tomatoes, some sweet chillies and some grapes. Oh, and some asparagus - only 99p for that, too! They weren't strictly on my list but will be put to very good use! Couldn't resist one charity shop - just one - and bought a book called 'Feng Shui for Wealth' so, if it works, will pass it on!
Have just had my regular Co-op Network magazine and flicked through it - there's a mention of a website where, 'for every click, a cup of staple food is donated to a hungry person in the developing world, paid for by companies whose banner adverts pepper the site' - I think it's a great idea and will make sure I click on it every day! It is: https://www.thehungrysite.com - I don't know how to post a link yet, sorry!
Well, can't think of anything else at the moment - I'm only trying to put off the evil moment when I have to list on eBay - I usually get into a real mess with it:mad:  plus I have to print off some photos for DH and I think I should at least half-heartedly throw the hoover around so it looks as if I've done something! Catch up with you all later!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:
