Yes, congrats Beakerange. I'm sure you've made the right decision - just the timing wasn't quite what you expected.

I am an only child with no other young children in my family and the first baby I ever held was my own.

When he was born, I did sit and look at him and think "oh my god, how on earth can I look after a baby?" but you just get on with it and find what works for you.

I really hope you keep posting on here and let us know how you get on.

    Congratulations Beakerange.

Now move yourself over to the Pregnancy Club board, where you will get lots of advise and meet some lovely people.

I suppose I will need to review these boards like crazy now for hints, tips and advice coz I'm not joking when I say I know NOTHING about babies at all.

Don't worry honey, nature kicks in and you'll be fine :)

And for God's sake don't read Pregnancys Best Kept Secrets board. It'll fascinate and horrify you in equal measure. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: But seriously it was written by Mums telling each other about the things that the books never do. :o There's plenty of humour in there and one or two interesting facts :D Don't be scared. If it was that bad we'd all be only children

And welcome to the best club in the whole World - being a Mum :T

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

Congrat! I didnt offer advice before, as it was your decision, and i felt horrible that things i may say may influence you one way or another!
Trust me, I had NO idea about anything to do with babies when I had my nipper, Id never held one, changed one, nothing! But I did it, and I did it on my own. Im the hugely hugely proud mother of a 7 year old, who i adore, and am greatful for every single day (even when he gets on my nerves!!)
You'll be fine, trust me, if I can do it, any bug*er can!!
    viks xx

Congratulations!!!!! Really pleased for you. And although I still don't have any, I never went near a baby until my niece was born and was terrified first time I held her. Nothing like having my own at all but now she will happily climb all over me and says I'm her fave relative. So it can't be that difficult to suss them out!
  • Congratulations!!!! Best of Luck to you & your hubby for the future.
