I also just got a PAP2 to use as an alternative to the setup I have already with a VOIP integrated router.

So could I also ask BexTech for the settings please? I'd like to see what all the options are.

    Thank you

    Also: http://PAP2_IP_Address/upgrade?http://www.bextech.co.uk/voip/pap222.bin

Will update the device, this is for the PAP2 ATAs and not the PAP2T ATAs.

Make sure this is done on a generic unlocked device, and not one previously locked to Vonage.

I've now got a PAP2, it's unlocked, but how do I know if it's a generic unlocked or previously locked to Vonage version, anyway to tell?

I presume that if it was previously locked to Vonage then updating the firmware will lock it again, is this the case?

And, do you know if the latest firmware 5.1.5LS (21.08.07) is a recommended update, it seems like quite a big jump from the 3.1.3LS that mine has come with, any comments?

So many questions, so much to find out! Any help very much appreciated.

Make sure the setting provision enabled is dissabled.

    Provision Enable - NO

ARE YOU SURE THAT IS THE CORRECT FIRMWARE?

I could not see it on the site for a PAP2.

See how I did it but not to 5.1.5LS:

I think I found a link to the PAP2T firmware by mistake, I'll hold off for now anyway, I think my 3.1.3 seems to be later than 3.1.22 which is the latest on the Linksys website.

Anyway I can say it is working just fine, voice quality does appear to better than the Draytek 2900VG, once I made a couple of tweaks such as reducing RTP packet size to 10ms and setting Jitter to 'low'. Nice to have a lot of adjustments to play with.

I've also now set Provision Enable to 'OFF' - can I ask what this does?

Thanks for all the contributions here.
