I see something here on this letter that I am surprised nobody else has lol
If payment is not received in 28 days, an additional administration charge of £30.00 will be incurred

That looks like they are indirectly charging for going to Popla, as you can only go to them after a reply from the PPC which takes longer than 28 days. Is this one worthy of a complaint to the dvla?
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Yawn...everyone on this forum. And it's NOT A FINE. A few thousand people every year come here for advice and everyone ignores a private parking ticket.

If you read a few threads you'd know that a scam invoice can't affect your credit rating, how on earth could it? A random firm can't just get a CCJ without you first defaulting on a credit agreement or Court judgment. Sometimes I despair about the gullible people who take this carp seriously, what is it with people in this Country that a fairly crashingly obvious scam is believed just because the piece of paper 'looks a bit official'. So does a phishing email from your 'Bank'.

Like all the other posters on this board, you have a fake PCN.

The registered keeper must just ignore it and ignore the other letters that will arrive. The letters are easy to ignore and laugh at, when they arrive at the address of someone who knows it's all hogwash and not a real parking ticket at all.

The whole scam of fake PCNs relies firstly on people's ignorance of the fact that a random private company can't fine anyone, and secondly on their natural fear of parking tickets and the escalating costs/bailiff scenario. So PPCs copy the look of a real parking ticket and - hey presto! - the cash rolls in from victims who know no better.

There is no fine, no CCJ, no bailiff, no debt, no effect on credit rating, no Court, no repercussions at all from a pathetic, unenforceable fake PCN (= invoice) issued by a random third party.

Tick off the threatening letters here.

Watchdog clip with expert Solicitor's opinion here.

Barrister's opinion - read the answer at the bottom, it's very clear! - here.

So I recommend from now on that you just play snap with the threatograms from debt collectors - choose to ignore and laugh at the scammer and their attempt to extort money. As I said, it's like deleting obvious phishing emails from your 'Bank'; a very similar con based on impersonation of authority.

SORRY TO BE HARSH BUT THIS IS SO BORING FOR US ON HERE SOMETIMES AND IS HARDLY DIFFICULT TO SUSS THAT'S IT'S A CON.

    BUT DO NOT PAY!!!! :D
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • This may sound a little idiotic, but I didn't overstay, I parked on yellow chevrons for around half an hour and received a £40 charge notice. Should I also ignore the letters when they come through or am I in the wrong?

Oh Lord, just out of bed after 5 days feeling lousy with flu and what greets me is a letter from CPplus. I parked in Lymm services for longer than the allowed free period of 2 hours, ie an extra half hour and now they want £50 if I pay within 14 days or £90 if I don't. There's a pic attached of me driving in and out. Apparently I could have paid the extra and avoided this. I didn't realise there was any restriction at all there. I'm sure there will be signage and they've sent a pic of the signage. I didn't get out of the car at the time. I simply drove in there and nodded off!

    Is it legit?
