Hi bellagio, and others, here,s one for you, especially mike.
Just been on phone to amex, 70 mins, excluding security time.
I have 6 butchers,, all listed on Amexs map, and mbna(mike), all at different locations;;;;
Wife used mbna at 2 shops,3 miles apart. as you know only one number with them.
only one e-mail.
Logged on and used chat line, explained it, they said it was Amex,s promo, they have to credit it.
Phoned Amex straight away, lovely girl, said they don,t deal with mbna purchases, but, kindly refunded the £10, for 2 transactions.on amex bill the next day.
TODAY;;;I went to the same 2 shops wife used, using both our Platinum cards, so, 2 transactions at first, 1 mine, 1 wifes.then did the same at second,4 transactions, only 2 e-mails, never had a problem before.
Result;;Phoned Amex, stroppy guy, gave me a load of waffle.The amex rep accused me of taking advantage of the promo,( Abusing) after about 20 mins.
Kept cool(unusual for me )
Explained again, he said
1;;The refund of £10 for mbna was wrong, shouldn,t have happened, and both shops are showing as 1, obviously using central server for all 6 shops.
I then let him have it, telling him he didn,t know what he was talking about.
He , put me on hold again, came back full of appologies. grovelling, said they were/are seperate shops/locatons and would refund my £10 and phone bill @ 10ppm=£7=70mins, I told him I,m complaining in writing, and I am after refunds are in, or not ?

Rang mbna, told him of amex, he said he would look into it and reply within 7 working days..As you know mike, mbna take ages to process, amex , next day usually, but were showing pending.in amex.
If it,s on the list, it,s a refund;e-mail or not, he admitted it in the end, but, all locations are taken from amex,s data base, so some do not use amex anymore, list is out of date.and new ones are same, not on the data base as seperate shops/locations.
OBJECT;;;Keep at them, if you don,t they will not pay out.
Just about run out of places now, knackered,and to cap it all, slipped and twisted ankle, cut my hand, today, coming from shops, all to save a bob or two:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

dont know how they can say abusing the offer when the email says this:

"Remember – there’s still time to Shop Small again, right up until 30 November 2012. And when you spend £5 or more one time at each participating business location, you'll receive a £5 credit on your statement. There's no limit to how many times you can Shop Small at different locations and get rewarded each time."

Hi bellagio, precisely, that,s what I told Amex rep on the phone, that,s when he was full of apologies, and grovelled.
He even insisted I put my wife on to apologise to her ,which I did, because I said she did most of the shopping. In fact, she does all the shopping, I have only done It this time, because she doesn,t like to haggle, she felt guilty.
I,ve just checked my Amex A/c and he has credited me £10 for the 2 missing e-mails, and £7.50 for my 78 minute call. Only what I was entitled to, no more, no less.
Still intend writing my letter of complaint when promo is finished.
Got my barbers on 28th, they are on the list, so, I,m going to ask if he will let me pay in advance for my next 2 cuts, after 28th, using the 3 cards.? Can but ask.:beer:
I intend to "take advantage now" after being accused of abusing it.

Better just to write to them in the first place I reckon, rather than spend an hour plus trying to get through to them on the phone.

Does anyone know what the term "at different locations" mean?

I have 4 Itsu shops (Noodle takeaway), several Patisserie Valerie's, Caffe Concertos etc... near my work and each one shows up on the FourSquare app with the Amex offer. Am I entitled to a £5 credit at each shop, since effectively they are different locations as the T&Cs state?

As long as shops/locations, the same thing, are on the amex map,or list, they are eligible to be used for the £5.card deal, each.
Foursquare, I,m not sure, as they are something I haven,t used.
The two are seperate, ones on app on phone, other is registered cards that have different numbers.

Hi, I didn,t spend an hour trying to get through, I spent 78 minutes talking to him, which he has refunded today at 10ppm=£7.80 and my £10 for the 2 deals I didn,t get e-mails for.

done a few more transactions today some got emails soon after and a couple of others didn't? managed to buy £5 m&s gift card and a £5 next giftcard from clinton cards

M&S and Next? Shop small? Do they come up on the website search where you are?

clinton cards sold gift cards for these stores and others like argos and currys, there are 3 clinton cards branches within 3 miles of me too that are listed separately on the shop small site, hope i can use all 3
