Note: Twinings in strand - although listed as participating in this promotion does not trigger the £5 refund. Is there any contact address in AMEX to notify them?
I think youre more likely to get action if you call Amex (number depends on what card you have) and they may give you the £5 anyway if they can see the transaction0 -
I think I am getting slightly obsessed by this..... 24 transactions done today!!!!!! (ok at only 12 locations as I have a cashback amex and a united airlines MBNA one as well!!!)
Have a haul that includes: xmas gift sets, lots and lots and lots of toiletries, chocolates, fruit and vegetables, christmas plants and planted bulbs, paid for a prescription, pens and highlighters for work, 2 pairs of bamboo socks!!!! (only things I could find in a clothes shop close to a fiver!!!)
Only trouble is that Mrs Mike Taff has the corresponding supplementary cards and we will be heading out on the same tour of duty on Monday with her cards!!!!
Had three shops that were on the list but didn't take AMEX. Will fire off an email as last time I did that they credited me a fiver anyway. Nothing to Lose!
And will be heading off to the bright lights of the big city in December, so will be hitting the food court of Harvey Nics for 4 x £25 four square cashback, thanks very much AMEX!!!!! :j0 -
Well I never realised how many shops selling utter tat there are in my area! Must have been in about 6 or 7 shops where I couldn't find anything I was remotely interested in, even as pressies, or that were worth the excess cost over a fiver! Bars of soap for £8!! I wouldn't pay £3! Stuff at £5.80 which I wouldn't pay 80p for!
At least I got a few almost free drinks at a couple of cafe/bars :beer:0 -
miketaff1408 - I bought bamboo socks for £5 today as well!
Henley was my shopping ground this morning, and I managed 13 shops, and got some great stuff. Sitting here with fresh flowers, lovely cakes, and a bottle of wine.... as well as more xmas shopping done ... thanks Amex!
Oh and Henley car parking is much cheaper than Reading or Windsor.0 -
i managed to get a love links charm for a friend for xmas,it was £25 and she left me use my 5 cards-
i can hear your all shout-'5 cards???' well actually i have 6 between me and my OH all seperate accounts.
3 bmi, 2BA and 1 gold card. and, can i add, all have a 0 balance!
going to a different city tomorrow for another free lunch x0 -
I've registered with Foursquare and used the app for Harvey Nichols, Gap and a few other local shops that show up on it. The problem is that I can't register for Shop Small, it says my card has already been registered! A lot of the shops aren't showing up on Foursquare so if I use my card without checking in on Foursquare will I still get my £5 credit?0

Yes, as long as you registered for the small shop offer you don't need to check in on foursquare.0

The problem is that I haven't been able to register for the small shop offer. I sync'd my card with Foursquare and now when I try to register for the small shop I get the message "Oops, our records show that you've already enrolled for this offer. We limit the number of times that a Cardmember can enrol for each offer."0 -

I registered my 3 cards for shopsmall,used them ok, BUT, dubious about the foursquare, conflicting with shopsmall;
I would have thought that,s what sync meant, one can use either.??
I thought you had given £5 some welly like me?
I know mike has.(good un)
what,s checking in?0 -
Hi Sue, that,s why I haven,t synced for foursquare yet.

If you have the Foursquare app then you check into the shop(i.e. press 'check in' on the app), then 'unlock' the Amex deal. I've done this at Harvey Nichols (£25), Gap (£10) and a couple of local shops (£5). The issue is that there are a lot of shops on the 'Shop Small' list that aren't appearing on the Foursquare app so I'm not sure if I'll get the refund. Seems like no-one else knows either...0
