A quick question I have is how people find out about these deals and offers. I don't get email alerts to Amex related stuff from MBNA, and I couldn't see a place to sign up for news alerts on the American Express Network.

Thanks for the list, I will definitely be hitting some of those up.

For everyone else that is interested, I have edited my original post to include a few more experiences. I will continue to edit that post throughout the month as I venture out at lunch or after work.

Amex sent me something through the post about Shop Small. This is the first I've heard about the West End VIP one though.

I had a good afternoon in Windsor yesterday, manged to find 13 shops that took my card and had things for under £6. The day before I stopped off in Datchet and did another 4 little shops.

Yes I got 17 email confirmations, and it was all items that will be used or given for Christmas pressies. Some items were just stocking fillers, and little things that I wouldn't usually be able to spend £5 on, but I know the people receiving them will appreciate them.

Great effort. I feel inspired to try harder before the end of the month. Just been to Rococo Chocolates in Belgravia and the pub I'm heading to after work is on the list

Note: Twinings in strand - although listed as participating in this promotion does not trigger the £5 refund. Is there any contact address in AMEX to notify them?
