We had to do that because the solicitors have to ensure that the money for the house has been made legitamately and not through money laudering. x0

I feel for you all, I excepted an offer end of July, found a place to buy in August and still not sure if I will move before the end of the month.Small chain my buyers(already sold and living with family) need a mortage, me buying cash with the sale of my house for an empty property
My buyers seem a bit laid back, bet they won't to be moved in for Xmas, I'm very busy in Dec so I hope they pull their finger out.
My purchased well that's been hard going too, why does it take 5 weeks to sort out a lawyer and fill in the forms for the draft contract0 -
I'm playing the waiting game too and it is driving me mad. I wish there was more I could do. Of course I don't want to annoy the solicitors so much that I go to the bottom of the pile!0

We've been to the Solicitors, we were there for over an hour and a little extra time due to the door not opening when trying to leave someone had to smash it open :rotfl:
We went through the Lease and signed the contract, there are a couple of things that need ironing out, one is the ground rent.
Solicitor has asked for the receipt for this but they haven't provided it. Solicitor say's it's quite important we have proof of this due to the management company possible making up stuff in the future and billing us extra.
We are in a good position though and he seems to think the date is achievable all being well with the Vendors! We will be getting onto the EA tomorrow to give them a kick up the rear!!0 -
Well it's looking like a December move or even 2013, can't understand my buyers, Would of thought they would of chased things more, they even asked when viewing would I be prepared to go into rented, they were keen to get a house asp due to already sold and living with friends/family.How's everyone else doing hope your doing better than me0

Not counting chickens yet. Earmarked for Friday.
Got a letter today from Solicitor saying my name came up in the Bankruptcy Search, and I needed to certify that is wasn't me :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
A tiny bit of research (Government bankruptcy and insolvency register) and I find my alter ego with surprise, surprise a completely different address and DOB. Why didn't my solicitor do this?
Printed off the relevant page, and returned the 'certification'! Fingers crossed. Mortgage prayer!!“Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.”
