  • The solicitors report has their findings/recommendation about the searches and mortgage offer etc, noting any problems that may need addressing. Our was fine so and was sent along with the contract to sign ready for them to exchange.

Ok thanks! Our solicitors should have draft contracts from the vendors solicitors now as they were sent out last week. Will they send this to us check or will we have to wait until searches are done?

Our survey showed up a damp problem that's needs addressing so we need to get te vendor to fix this anyway but was hoping to recieve something from the solicitors too!

Treading water here. Exchange contracts already!! Meaning I haven't :(

I've been doing my best to ignore that there are even any eggs, but it is hard!

Before I started looking for a house I expected the estage agents to be the most annoying part of the house buying process, as they have such a bad reputation, but they were generally OK.

The conveyancing has been much more frustrating, mainly because the whole process seems to be stuck in the last century so it takes a week to turn anything round.

Enjoy, we completed on a day neither of us could get off work so at least we weren't waiting around in a van to collect keys, it made the next day easier to be able to go in and put a few kitchen things away the evening before.

    Enjoy your

    How is everyone doing?

We have returned draft contracts and signed the other forms. Not sure how we go about getting an exchange date now?

I'm having kittens!! This process is stressing me out! I need to exchange on Friday 30 November and although progress has been made I'm still waiting on local searches, to sign sale contract, get deposit value confirmed and receive conveyancers bank details. Got developer trying to insist I complete sooner than 2 weeks after exchange which I can't do. Arrrggg. Trying to stay calm.

Just an update on my situation. I was supposed to complete on the 10th and actually managed to complete on the 8th - so only took 1 month 2 days from offer to completion (I wasn't a 100% cash buyer either). (thank goodness I had a motivated seller and a solictor who was on the ball!)

OP - pleased to hear exchange has happened and that you can finally relax! Heres to the 27th for you!:T Good luck to everyone else hoping to complete this month.
