Selling mine. Signed contracts and will exchange once the tenant moves out (14th hopefully).
In the meantime I am looking around worriedly thinking I should pack. Pleas for cardboard boxes were sent today lol.“Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.”

Trying to avoid signing a new six month contract! See https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4260739
Hoping exchange before the current contract expires to give me maximum negioating power with my current landlord (I do have a friend's sofa booked, but hoping it won't come to that).Note: Unless otherwise stated, my property related posts refer to England & Wales. Please make sure you state if you are discussing Scotland or elsewhere as laws differ.0 -
After my last sale I moved into rented and I wouldn't sign a tenancy until I had exchanged. I asked for a longer period between exchange and completion so I could sort things out.0

How's everyone getting on?
Badly
Vendors Solicitors i think are holding things up or it's the Land Registry to do with the Lease, my Solicitors are still waiting for it after requesting it last week.
Searches are being done in the meantime which take 2-3 days so i've been told.
Completion date is looking a bit suspect now methinks0 -
Have faith. Signed contracts Friday and fired off an additional land registry search. So there is time to iron out the creases.“Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.”

We're hoping to hear back from the solicitors tomorrow.
One question I have for everyone chasing a November move-in date. What are you doing with your current homes? i.e. for those currently renting, when are you (have you) handing (handed) your notice in?
Whatever you do, DO NOT hand in your notice on a rented property until you have exchanged contracts. Make sure you get a completion date far enough away so that you can hand notice in once you've exchanged and have time to move out of rented and into new place without having to pay rent & mortgage.0 -

Solicitor say they are still waiting for the local authority search, which was submitted two weeks ago. My Nov 15th exchange is looking increasingly unlikelyNote: Unless otherwise stated, my property related posts refer to England & Wales.
