  • Can I join!?We have a date for completion of 30th Nov.
    praying we can achieve this.
Mortgage offer through. However vendors sol didn't send draft contract til wed this week so searches only sent for that day. I've been told they are taking approx 10 days to come back then I guess it depends what they throw up! What do you think? Do-able?

There are so many of us joining in! It is nice to know I'm not alone. I'd forgotten how stressful this moving thing can be. I'm so impatient too which is a nightmare! I hadn't appreciated that until the draft contract is received, searches are not actually started. Feel calmer already.
  • I'm completing today. i viewed house 27 Aug offer accepted 29 august, exchanged 26 Oct and completing today so 9 weeks. I'm a FTB no chain and cash buyer
  • Another one joining here.

Had offer accepted on 18-Sep. Mortgage offer signed within 10days, surveys all completed with only a small query to vendor which was sorted pretty quickly. We're FTB's and there is no upward chain.

Our solicitor sent draft contract to vendor's solicitor on 18-Oct with a few queries. We'd love to be in our new place by the end of this month but not sure if it's possible....
  • I'm panicking its not going to happen!
  • Our vendor is signing the contracts at his solicitors today - its been a stressful road - offer accepted August 19th, Mortgage application sent in August 23rd, Mortgage offer received October 22nd (very very long time!). Because our mortgage offer took so long, the solicitors were able to get on with everything in the background so we signed the contract on Monday, and hopefully will be exchanging next Monday, and completing on November 12th - so 12weeks from start to finish (FTB's with no chain, purchasing an empty freehold house with no onward chain) - I just can't wait to actually hear that we've exchanged so I can order our furniture!

We exchanged today - offer accepted 15th October. Completion date 16th Nov so that will be exactly a month. FTB, mortgage buying an empty freehold place chain free. So it is totally possible to do, you just need to prepared to do lots of chasing, don't be afraid to nag the lender/everyone on your side for a decision/to move things forward for you, while still being super nice to them.

isisini - shoulds like you've had a very efficient experience! redapple1 - try and stay calm, easier said than done as earlier this week I was getting so grumpy and impatient. Philipth - it sounds like you have a good chance, I suppose you just need to stay close to what is happening and make sure they have what they need!

I just called my bank to see how my application was doing and it is already with the underwriters and they expect a decision on 7 November! I only submitted it on 24 October! Wow!

We got our offer accepted on the 6th Oct, and should be exchanging/completing on the 10th Nov. Could have been a few days before, had we arranged to go through paperwork sooner. The searches were really quick - only a couple of weeks. Plus First Direct mortgages were really on the ball! :T (a motivated seller also helps!)

Good luck to the OP - keep us posted!
  • Not a chance ill relax til we get those keys. My solicitor doesn't seem quite on the ball either, but I've given him a gentle kick!!
Our sellers purchase is all ready. The people they are buying from are moving into rented. Problem is how long it took their solicitors to send draft contract etc to our solicitors!!!
Hoping the searches come back quickly and any issues are addressed in a timely manner!
