i HawkRaven. I also visit/shop from this car park.

One car park area, two separate car parks operated by two separate PPC's, Parking Eye and Norfolk Parking Enforcement. As you mention, the one and only entrance belongs to Aldi not the PH. The number of people being caught out here is just showing why the private parking companies just wish to fleece motorists rather thanH actually manage a land owner's car parking area responsibly. I have watched the NPE goons sticking their little tickets as fast as their legs and cameras lets them. You wait til nearer Xmas, it will be chaotic. Any tickets from either just ignore. See my post earlier in this thread. Post #17.

Added: Aldi(not PE) to their credit have now employed an "enforcement" parking officer(it says so on his high vis jacket) and he can be seen oftentimes standing on opposite corner of the store from the Aldi store entrance and he should look out for those drivers/cars which park within the blue lined bays belonging to the PH and warn the Aldi customer(who would have to be walking away from PH toward the Aldi store)that they will be ticketed by the NPE goons. Aldi are not happy with this situation as when it opened the customers could park in any bay but the PH has since changed hands/owner. Aldi could lose customers in droves if too many people are ticketed and think they should pay NPE. Sainsburys store 1 mile away has a bigger car park with no problems like this! Great job these two private parking companies are doing!!!!!

Did you hear any more regarding this ticket? I made the same mistake today in Aldi Norwich and received a ticket :(

    Hi ice_babe.
Who gave you a ticket? Parking Eye or Norfolk Parking Enforcement? If the latter just ignore it and any thing they send to you however threatening.

Great news now though if you over stayed Aldi car park area managed by PE! PE has cameras that log the time you enter and when you exit and if you over stay.....they get your details from DVLA and send you a ticket. Unfortunately for Parking Eye you could as far as they know been parked the whole time or part time in the PH's car park area, operated by NPE which you can only enter onto through the Aldi store entrance! So in effect as far as I can tell PE can't really invoice you for they do not know how long you stayed in the Aldi car park!!
But ignore PE's tickets any way is the advice from here, this forum, whatever is the case.

This situation could get you two invoices though for the same thing, you spend over 2 hours there parked up in npe car park and go to Aldi you get one from them then one from PE when you leave through their car park.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Youre right.....its even more of a fiasco than I first thought!

You know what I would do? Send the PE ticket to NPE and the NPE ticket to PE asking them each to cancel or I will need the POPLA verification code.....could create even more confusion lol

From Norfolk Parking Enforcement, It was only the second time I have visited Aldi. I had my son with me and parked out of the way( I always park out of the way in supermarkets to reduce the chance of my car getting damaged and I need room for my son to get out as car is a 2 door) . I didn't even realise the car park was shared with the pub :( I was only in Aldi for 20 mins and put my reg into the machine in the shop. Looking at the ticket they issued it within 5 mins of me parking there and there was no parking attendent in sight. Also the back of the car park was completly empty so I wasn't really doing any harm.

See #17 post from me in this thread.

Many people do that, park when they can where the least chance of one's car being dented/pranged by another's door/bumper etc. I do it when I can. Yes, the NPE goon would have been watching you and as soon as you head away from or past from the PH to the Aldi store he pounces on your car and...slaps a little plastic wallet with its little sad ticket on your driver's side windscreen.
Anyway, as you said, your parking was not inconsiderate or irresponsible to the landowner(not NPE) so NPE can not demand from you any thing at all. Simply ignore it. This will mean NPE will have to get your details from the DVLA(its costs them £2.50) and then they send you a demand for whatever it is they think they can get away with. Is it £60 if paid within a certain time? Any way, you just ignore it and any thing further they send you. DO NOT PAY NPE A PENNY If you need help to ignore their possible ever increasing empty threats(debt collector, solicitors letter, threat of court action, which won't happen they would lose and they know it)come back here and others more learned than I can give you all the reassurance you might want or need.

Oh, by the way, I go to Aldi 2x week and never ever waste my time with putting my vehicle details into their touch screens. But I have on the odd occaison recently, just for fun, P155 0FF. ;)

  • Cheers edward123,

OK, well, I am not paying NPE - it's a disgusting con, it's not even as if the car park is placed anywhere near the city centre, so you would not benefit from parking there to shop elsewhere. No man in a jacket today - at least I didn't see him... & he didn't approach me.
Never before have I felt the need to check signs when you enter a supermarket car park & know you will be approx 20 mins shopping - how the heck on a first visit (as this was) would you be expecting to be on the look out for this? It's clearly a con & is not decently signposted. Live & learn I guess, I won't be paying up, same as ice-babe.

Edward... The man in the "enforcement" jacket may well be me. Im not employed by ALDI but i often go there to remove the tickets from the cars that have been done near the pub.

Im also doubting that the pub have that many spaces they seem to have a 70/30 split in their favour over the much larger Aldi.

Im wondering if Aldi head office know that NPE have put their signs on the ALDI posts. Also if the NPE people have actually painted more lines blue than they are entitled to. After all the store manager may be none the wiser.
