5"3 and I know you are all thinking it... I'm not obese either. Not skinny though mind - size 10
.
miss_independent agree with poster that suggested asking a friend for an honest opinion, could it be that guys assume you are too pretty to be single and are scared to ask?0 -

My own opinion. Size 6 is horrific on most women. It's stick like. I'd actually say a size 10 for most is perfect, as it's slim/athletic and feminine.
I'd hate to think size 6 is what women think "hot" is.0 -

So, not a chance in hell for fat women like me then? Ah well.
Good thing I like cats.0 -

I've asked...I've begged them to tell me actually. They say when I walked into the room they thought I'd be really intimidating but when I spoke to them they thought I wasn't like how I thought I would be. An older male friend said that if he was my age he wouldn't know what to say to me so he wouldn't try. I don't get it...I try to be nice to everyone but often people (men and women) don't give me a chance?! Actually, older people and children are always nice to me but people in my own age group can be really off-hand with me, they just don't want to get to know me.
Intimidating to me = arrogant and I detest arrogance. I have a dance background so I walk with a straight back but counteract that by smiling and being friendly, though I wouldn't say I'm confident (I'm just good at hiding it). I was badly bullied at school...I don't know if that's still having an impact on me.
As I say I don't think that it could be solved on here. I've done my fair share of talking about myself! Poor OP, I am sorry...0 -
Only place for a size 6 is on yer feet - unless you happen to also be only 4ft 2, it's not a good look!
RE: fate/luck - it's perspective, i'm a great believer in what's for me won't go by me, call me a bit odd but it's how I come to terms with the bad stuff life decides to throw at me, believing there's a greater reasoning for it than I can understand.
As for "oh I won't go and approach a guy" - well, that's another perspective thing I suppose, but as a guy I don't have any problem with a woman with enough confidence to make the first move. Truth be told it's actually an incredibly attractive trait, it's not as likely to get you noticed as the physical in the first instance but it's right up there with things in the plus column.
As for gyms, I can see the draw but well, I concur, they're a place for a purpose and it aint socialising or finding a partner - won't lie though, gym honeys tend to make the legs lighter on the treadmill!Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -

You know, people who are a size 6 (and lots are naturally) don't deserve to be called unattractive anymore than anyone else does.0 -
Have to agree, and this is coming from someone who is a size 20.Person_one wrote: »You know, people who are a size 6 (and lots are naturally) don't deserve to be called unattractive anymore than anyone else does.
My sister is a 6/8, she's just naturally skinny and tall. But she's as much of a woman as i am and far prettier! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

My daughter has the straight back, head held high and is size 10.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
Definitely agree with that. Few things annoy me more than those talks of "real women", Daily Mail readership style. Women are women, none are more "real" than others. It's just nonsense.0
