Finding That Special Person

Hi All,

Some of you may have seen from other posts I've made that I've never had much luck in my life regarding matters of the heart with only one significant ex.

As I approach 29 I relly want to focus on this area of my life, I know these things just don't happen, however I was wondering what others did to find that special someone in their lives? Maybe some of you were a bit luckless like me but managed to change tactics or perhaps it just happened for them - I'd be interested in your feedback as I'm hopeless at the moment.

Broken heart after an engagement that went wrong I moved into a flat and got a job two nights aweek in a local pub (was working FT as well) as I was skint after paying the mortgage and figured it was two nights I was out and earning not spending. My OH was a 'regular' who came in with the lads after footie training and 25 years (23 married) and three children later the rest, as they say, is history :)

Does anyone really think there is any special method to meeting someone?

The only real method is to put yourself in as many social situations as you can to widen your social circle and thus have the chance of meeting someone.

I met my OH at work.

After 2 years of being mates and working together, we went on a jolly freebie day out with a few others, and realised we'd like to be more than friends.

I was 29 at the time, and wasn't even looking for anyone, having just come out a 5 year relationship a few months before!

3.5 years later, we're still together and have a little boy.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

It will happen when the time is right and when you are least looking :)

I met my Mr Right at 19½ married at 20½ and here we are 36 years (come December) still going strong. Our daughter gets married a week on Saturday at the grand old age of 32½, having got together with her husband to be about 2 - 3 years ago.

So you are not too old and it will happen for you I am sure.

Get out there and mix. The more people you come into contact with the higher chance you have of meeting someone. Above all else just be yourself and have some fun. 29 is still very young to be worrying about settling down. Plenty of time for all that yet.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

Don't try! It sounds odd but before I met my husband I wasn't bothered by meeting someone...
We met at university, just dawdling along and booosh, love at first sight.

You'll meet someone, I believe there's someone out there for everyone!
Married my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j
