    Hi everyone,

I am new here so please bare with me.

My bank has charged me £175. for going over in my account. I had a insurance policy with a company and had 2 people come to my house so i could cancel it. I cancelled the policy and when i received a statement from my bank they charged me £175 in bank charges because the insurance company had taken then money out of my account.

I do not have money in my account and i am not putting any in so the bank cant take £175 of any money i may had put it.

I want the bank to reimburse all charges but i am not sure where i send my letter to, my bank is barclays.

Can someone give me the address please?

Also i downloaded the sample letter "letter 2" without insterest charges. but as i have not paid the bank charges unless i put money in would the sample letter be alrite to use as the sample letter sounds as if i have been charged out of my money which yes i owe them £175 but they aren't having it as i am not putting money in also i get paid cash in hand so i am not bothered but not sure if the sample letter is correct for my problem.

Sorry if it sounds confusing. Any help appreciated.

Hi,did you get your cancellation notice in writing, and did you write to your bank and cancel d/d,if you did then you would be covered by the d/d guarantee ,also if you reclaim the money it will come off of your balance so you wouldn't owe the bank anything. It may be worth ringing barclays and explaining what has happened. You should find the address in the reclaim bank charges thread.Goodluck

I need the addresses for First Direct, Natwest & Nationwide please. I need to send them my letters for reclaiming my charges.

Also I don't have the account numbers for the accounts with First Direct & Natwest as they are a few years old and have been closed by the banks. Could I still put in claims and if so, how do I do this.

    Please help me a.s.a.p.

    Thank you
    Steve:confused:

All the addresses are in the Reclaim Bank Charges Help Thread, a sticky at the top of the board. If you don't know your account numbers anymore, provide them with your address and date of birth.
